Hello Funners, this is your Tourmanet Guide on how to run a double-elimination tournament
. From all the Admins, thanks for taking your time and helping our wonderful league.
In this guide, we will teach you how to run a tournament. The first thing to do is to go to the tournament site at www.igl.net.tk
Here you will enter your ladder name under Name: and your ladder password under password. Once you complete this step, Hit Login.
After you lit login, this will appear. Use the drop box and go to the ladder you are wishing you enter. In this case, you will use angels_good_an
After Logging in, You will enter the TD Administration Center. From this Site, You have many options.
The first option you have is Administer Tournament. This button will allow you access to tournaments you have previously createn.
The Second option is Change E-Mail. This option simply is to change your email address where important TD messages go to.
The Third Option is Change TD Name. This option allows you to change your TD name if you have previously changed your ladder name. THis will be done automatically once you press the button.
The Fourth option is Create Tournament. This is how you first create a tournament.
The Fifth option is Email Head TDs. This allows you to send Emails to all the HTDs on the ladder, including Admins.
The Six options gives you access to TD forums.
The Seventh option is LadderBux Calculator. You can use this to calculate ones LadderBux they will win.
The Eight Option is Remove Tournament. You can you this to delete any tournaments you have created. PS. You can also do this under ADminister Tournaments.
The Night Option is System Status. This is where major issues with cases are posted.
The Tenth Option is Tourney Calander which shows the list of tournaments by date.
The Eleventh Option is Tourney Support. This is used to fix tournaments that have been closed with incorrect results. Please notify an admin if you have made a mistake in a tournament so they may assist you.
The Last Option that we will use is Logout. This simply logs you off the TD page.
Now to create a tournament, click the Create Tournament Link.
After hitting this button, The above will appear.
Using the drop box, You may choose to pick a Single Elim, Double Elim, or Swiss Tourney. now we will choose Double Elim.
Now You may choose the date in which you want to create your tournament for. The date highlighted in red is the current date.
Here you may choose what time you want to run your tournament. There are certain guidelines for running certain tournaments at certain times that you should be aware of.
Name of Tournament: Use the name of the game you are playing
Game: Use the drop box to find Euchre
Game Room Name: SOC Lounge 10
Game Room Link: Use our Soc Lounge 10 Link - http://games.yahoo.com/games/ante?room=euchre_j&prof_id=chat_pf_1&nosignedcab=yes
Game Format: Place the name of the game whether its a 1vs1 2vs2 3vs3..etc, and if a SE DE or Swiss
Tourney Style: Leave Alone
Number of Rounds: Usually use 6 or more to ensure everyone can play
Minutes between Round Start Times: You can use any amount. Usually 5 or 10
Number of Players Per Team: This is where you put how many players per team. If you want a 2vs2, put 2, 3vs3, put 3 and so forth.
Teams Competing per match we leave as the default 2.
Random teams: If a 2vs2, 3vs3 etc, you have the option to let players pick partners, or by checking the box letting the computer pair partners randomly.
The rest you may skip until you reach LadderBux Settings. Here we will always choose the last option: LadderBux entry fee:LadderBux to top finishers. Click that bubble. We always charge 200 ladder bux. Simply use the Drop Box and click on 200.
After Completing all these steps, hit Create Tournament.
You will get a message stating your tournament has been created successfully. To return to that tournament, Simply Click the Return
to Administer Tourney #(tourney number)
After returning to your tournament, you will first need to open your checkins so players may sign up. You cannot open your tournament more than 1 day in advance. Simply Hit Open Check-Ins to open up your tournament.
You will get the above page. Simply Return to Your Tournament after you Open it.
Once you have at least 4 players registered, you may close your tournament. Simply hit Close Registration
After returning to Tourney, you will get the above page. From here you may Fully Close your tournament, or Reopen it to allow more members to play. (That will take you back to the previous picture). Now hit Close Registration.
If you ever come across the message above, always use the Exand your tournament option. NEVER drop the players.
There are 2 Options From Here that we will focus on.
The Adjust Match Option is used if you marked the wrong winner, Simply click here and switch the bubble to the winner.
To begin giving pairings, click Report Match.
From here you will be given the Upper Bracket Pairings, once a player or team loses, They will be placed in the Lower Bracket.
If a 2vs2, Simply Read the pairings across such as Team Choose inv Team CasesTD.
If a 1vs1, Just like A Single Elim, You will take first 2 left, agasint the first to right.
Here the pairings will be Choose and Free vs CasesTD and USA.
Once a team wins, you will indivudually mark the WINNER by choosing the bubble and hitting Report Loss.
Once You Mark a winner you will get this screen, simply hit Return to Administer Tourney to take you back to tourney page.
From here, hit Report Match again.
Now we will mark the other winner. Please be careful because once you mark a pairing, the next possible matchup will appear. In this case, we marked choose as winner over casestd, but now choose's next pairing already appears before marking other pairing. Try not to get confused and mark choose as winner again thinking you forgot to mark him winner. He is simply just up against another opponent. Now we will mark Free winner since Choose and Free were on a team and defeated casestd n USA.
Once there are enough teams to form a lower bracket pairing, you will see A Lower Bracket matchup.
If a 2vs2, simply read teams across.
If a 1vs1, you will start from top and take first two players on the left who are currenty NOT in a game already, vs their direct opponents.
Since None of the 4 are already paired agasint someone else, The pairings will simply be France n casestd vs choose and Free.
If there is not enough players to create a pairing(4 players) simply use subs if needed.
Once you reach where it says Junction, this is considered the finals.
The first player will represent the top bracket having lost no games.
The second player will represent the lower bracket having one loss.
Finals rules apply from here on out.
If the player with 0 loss wins, you will mark winner and the tournament is over
If the bottom player wins, you will then come across another repeat pairing only this time it will be named Final, not Junction. However we play both as Finals. If a player boo's they boo out of tourney. So if top player boo's they lose both matchups. From here, the winner of this matchup is the winner of the tournament. Simply mark the bubble of the winner and hit Report Loss.
After you mark the winner of the tournament, you return to the Tourney page and the following will appear. Simply follow the steps until you close the tournament.
Confirm the standings are right and continue.
After Hitting Close Out Tournament, you have completed that tournament. Congrats.
