STAFF RULES

This is the internet and we are an adult league. Cases does not promote children under 13 joining the league and neither do we. We are not babysitters and we are not responsible for what other peoples children see online. Swearing is allowed but we do not allow extreme profanity. The use of the words F*ck and C*nt will result in an immediate boxing if it is a staff member.

We do not issue emails if you don't run.
We don't put you on vacation if you don't run.
We do not keep a record of how many tourneys you run a month.
You have 7 days to complete your training. If you have not done so you will be removed from staff to accomodate other new or returning td's.
If If you fail to run for 30 days and have not contacted ADMN you will be removed from staff.
If you are idle 90 days cases removes you from the league.
If you choose to play and not run that is your decision.
The choices you make are yours.

You applied to be a TD. This is a volunteer position and we will treat it as such. If you are comfortable running a single tourney and then playing while others run several it's your decision. We are not your parents and won't treat you like children.

Remember we are a team and we are here to have fun.

STAFF MEMBERS ARE RESTRICTED FROM CHANGING THEIR NAMES FOR A PERIOD OF 3 MONTHS UPON JOINING STAFF/CURRENTLY STAFF.

This restriction is to prevent staff from repeatedly changing their id's and forcing leaugers to continually have to add and delete id's. As we have had several complaints in the past. If you have changed your name in the last 3 months then you must wait to change it again.

We have had a bad sportsmanship issue with a lot of players lately and some of the players are berating their opp's for not saying gh,gg etc. If you see an opp doing this please IM them quietly and ask them to please stop. We can't make people show good sportsmanship, we can't teach values, morals and manners thats not our job.

When staff are playing they are just leaguers and the same rules apply to them.

If a td makes an error whether it's on their scroll or the tourney setup, please DO NOT critisize them in the lobby. Politely IM them and discuss it.

If a family member living in the same household joins your doubles you must ask another Td to come Kibitz that table for you. This will dispel any concerns of cheating.

HTD'S are encouraged to review new apps. If you have comments that admin need to know about a particular app, please feel free to EMAIL or IM an admin with them, but please DO NOT post comments or approve/decline any apps.

TD'S/HTD'S should try to run a minimum of 2 tourneys a week for a total of 8-10 a month (based on a 4 or 5 week month).

SNR-HTD'S should try to run a minimum of 4 tourneys a week for a total of (16-20) a month (based on a 4 or 5 week month).

We understand that everyone needs a day off and a break. This is a volunteer position. If we all run a single tourney everyone would get a change to host and to play.

If you see a td has several tourneys booked why not offer to take a spot it means a lot.

NEW TD'S... You will sit with a trainer and do all the scrolling. Your trainer will then have you make a tourney. Your trainer will sit with you during your tourney to ensure things run smoothly. Your trainer will let you know when you are able to run on your own. You will then read the doubles tutorial and schedule doubles.

Contact ADMIN when you have completed 20 tourneys so you can receive D/E training. Let an ADMN know when you complete your 30. You will be promoted to HTD and be given Swiss training.

DO NOT host a D/E style tourney until you have been trained by a designated trainer. Designated trainers for D/E are ANY ADMIN BUT PLEASE GET WITH ONLY ONE

ALWAYS read invites to tables before accepting them...this will prevent problems later on.

If a td encounters a problem with a player it is their responsibility to fill out a Players Note Request Form/Players note, take a screenshot and post a short note on the td tag to let others know. The screenshot must be uploaded to the tdhtd photobucket. The link can be found on your td center for photobucket and player note request form. Htd and admn must also ensure that their complaints are posted and ss uploaded to the appropriate accounts.

TOURNEY GUIDELINES

BRB's/MIA's... ONLY 3 MIA's, if they go MIA a 4th time it's an auto DQ... Only 3 BRB's, if they call a 4th BRB you call the game. A BRB should last NO longer then 2 minutes...after 2 minutes you start the MIA timer from the time the player went idle and ask the host to make the table PROTECTED until the mia'd player returns. (EX: FLOWER SAYS BRB AT 2:12, SHE'S NOT BACK AT 2:14 THEN START THE MIA TIMER AT 2:12)

It is the TD's responsibility to remain at the table to ensure all games are cancelled at the end of an MIA. Turn kibitz off (if they are on) sit and cancel the game when the time is up. TD'S CANNOT LEAVE THE TABLE UNTIL THE GAME IS CANCELLED.

SLOW PLAY... We do not enforce slow play until the last 10 minutes of a game. It is unfair to slow play a player when the game has 30/45 to finish. At the 10 min mark you may scroll the slow play rule and ask them to speed up, if they are taking more than 30-45 seconds to take a turn. If necessary wait a few minuts and scroll the rule again. If slow play continues the player is then dq'd.

SLOW PLAY RULE IS NOW IN EFFECT. YOU HAVE 30-45 SEC TO COMPLETE YOUR TURN. 2 WARNING WILL BE ISSUED THEN A DQ. {Time}

INVITER MIA... If the inviter fails to make the table after pairs are posted (and you have got all your other tables started) the opp will be asked to make the table protected and sit and an MIA timer is started. MIA time is one minute after the pairs were scrolled. ...YOU DO NOT ask the inviter for a table, just mia them. See MIA Guidelines on the TD Center.

DO NOT ALTER YOUR SCROLLS WITHOUT FIRST CONSULING AN ADMN. Keytext is character sensitive and will stop working if an invalid character is used.

STAFF MUST NOT ADVERTISE A TIME LIMIT TO MAKE TABLES IN THEIR SCROLLS

If you find that someone has two names in the league, please report that to an admin and let us handle it. Rule is...ONLY one name allowed in the league.

ONLY players TD/TRAINEES & ADMIN (IF NEEDED) are allowed at tourney tables.

DQ RESTARTS....if a player DQ's, the game is cancelled and over.... NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!

All staff are required to learn how to take screenshots. You must have an updated and working screenshot program available at all times.

No complaints can be registered or recorded unless there is a valid screenshot (uploaded or emailed to admn) or an Instant Message (sent to admn).avail

TOURNEYS AND PROCEDURES

Staff must not move a tourney less than 1 hour from start time without first informing an htd or admn of your intent to do so. If there are people registered in the tourney then it should not be moved and it is your responsibility to find an admn/htd to run it for you.

Please send the htd/admn an IM and wait for a response or go into the lobby and inform staff that you must move your tourney and the spot is now available.

Staff must be in the lobby a minimum of 30 minutes (1 hour is ideal)prior to tourney start time unless they have arranged with another staff person to scroll their tourney for them. If you are not here that 30 minutes ahead of time, that Tourney will be moved. If this happens often staff can/will be demoted and/or removed from staff completely.

In the event you can't get enough in your tourneys to close it on time the first thing you MUST DO is CHANGE the game. Don't wait until closing time to change it. If at 10 minutes to close you don't have enough in "CHANGE" the game including the rules and the name on the calendar. Scroll the "PLEASE REFRESH CALENDAR SCROLL." Don't hold your tourney open longer than 5 minutes after the close time. If you were unable to get enough people in remove those in it, CLOSE THE TOURNEY FIRST, inform anyone who jumped that you are moving it and removing them. Remove the players and move the tourney to the following year until you can find a spot to run it.

A How To Move A Tourney tutorial is available on the td center.

PRE-BOOKINGS... Any spot (hour or half hour) can be pre-booked.

NEVER DELETE TOURNEYS... ONLY ADMN are permitted to delete a tourney. Move the tourney to next year and contact admn. Also please use moved Tourneys first to prevent calendar clogging.

SETUP... Leave 3 hours in between swiss and double elim Tourneys and wait 3 hours before repeating a game.

DOUBLES... You may host a doubles tourney anytime you want if you feel there are enough players in the lobby. If you dont get enough in at 10 minutes to close let the players know you are removing them and replacing the game with a singles. See the Moving a tourney tutorial if needed.

DOUBLES TOURNEYS CANNOT BE HELD OPEN FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES AFTER THE CLOSE TIME. IF THE AUTO IS UNEVEN WE WILL ALLOW A 5 MINUTE GRACE PERIOD TO FILL THE SPOT. WE WILL THEN CLOSE AND THE LAST PERSON TO JUMP ON AUTO WILL BE DROPPED..

TOURNEY FEES... Entry fees are 50 bux max for tourneys (unless otherwise cleared with admin) and 100 bux max for Doubles, Swiss and DE's.

GAME TIME... Cases official stand on game times is 45 minutes, however a good RULE OF THUMB to follow is....Tourneys needing a special meld STEPS, ZZZZZ, ACES NTC OR tourneys that have conditions to go out RED ROSE OR need 2 canastas to go out are 45 min. Regular NTC and single out games Mountain Top etc is 30 min.(i.e. mia's or brb's) Games running over may only be called at the end of a hand NOT during.
