Xtreme8ball Custom Rules

Thank you for your interest in joining X8B. Please review our custom rules prior to registering.

Xtreme8ball members must agree to abide by the following rules and accept that violation of these rules may result in a warning, lowering of rank, being put in penalty box or being removed from the league depending on the seriousness of violation.

1. FOUL, RACIALLY OR SEXUALLY EXPLICIT LEAGUE NAMES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. THE X8B STAFF RESERVES THE RIGHT TO BAN A NAME IF ONE FEELS THE NAME IS INAPPROPRIATE. MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED ONLY ONE ACCOUNT. If you experience problems while registering and you are unable to complete the registration process, please notify an ADMIN or HTD for assistance. MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTICE TO THE MEMBER RESULTING IN A LOSS OF BUX, STATS AND RATINGS.

2. YOUR XTREME8BALL NAME MUST MATCH YOUR YAHOO NAME (This includes any dashes, dots, capital letters, and email endings that do not fit.). No provisional names will be allowed! Your Yahoo name must have at least 15 games played before it can be a registered member in Xtreme. These must be legitimate games and NOT boosted games. League members are restricted to changing their league names once per week.

3. THE CUE BALL MUST BE MOVED PRIOR TO THE BREAK.

4. All members must say GL at the start of a match and GG at the end. Please refrain from saying GG before the 8 is potted.

5. Xtreme8ball does not allow multiple users from the same computer. Users may play from the same house, but they must use separate computers. Contact an admin for further guidelines.

6. YAHOO GLITCHES COUNT!! It's inevitable....Yahoo! glitches will occur...There's no way to control them.

7. NO RERACKS!! Reracks are NOT PERMITTED unless the 8 is potted on the break OR unless the TD requests it.

8. CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN XTREME8BALL! If you suspect cheating, please notify an ADMIN asap and allow them to handle any accusations or implications, as well as possible penalties involved. Openly accusing or implying that a member is using an Auto Aimer or any other cheating device either in the lobby or at a table will get you boxed for 2 days, as this causes unnecessary tension and arguing among members.

9. SNOOKERING is NOT against the rules due to the simple fact that it is too hard to enforce such a rule; however, it is highly advised against. TD's have the right to enforce a NO SNOOKERING RULE in their individual tourneys if they prefer. Therefore, it is suggested that you review the rules prior to entering a tourney. TAPPING the cue in an effort to play a safety is against the rules and will get you disqualified from the tourney.

In order to differentiate between the an illegal tap and a legal snooker (if td allows) the following is provided.

LEGAL SHOT - Unless otherwise stated in a specific game rule, a player must cause the cue ball to contact a legal object ball and then (1) pocket a numbered ball, or (2) cause the cue ball or any numbered ball to contact a cushion. Failure to meet these requirements is a foul. PLEASE NOTE: It is permissable for the shooter to bank the cue ball off a rail before contacting his object ball; however, after contact with his object ball, an object ball must be pocketed, OR the cue ball or any numbered ball must contact a rail. Failure to meet these requirements is a foul.

10. LEAGUE BOOSTING IS AGAINST THE RULES and will get you a hot seat on the kicked list.

11. REPORT YOUR LOSSES! Tourney wins/losses are to be reported immediately in the lobby after each round. League games should be reported immediately BEFORE proceeding to the next game. If your opponent fails to report a loss, simply remind him/her to report, as it's sometimes easy to get side tracked and forget. If the member refuses to report the loss then an "UNREPORTED MATCH" complaint may be filed. These are found on the main league page. 1st offense is a verbal warning, 2nd is a box, 3rd is a possible ban from the league.

12. ALL TABLES ARE TO BE RATED AND PROTECTED unless otherwise specified by the TD and all league games must be played in the ALIVE room. Games played in another room or on Yahoo Messenger are NOT accepted.

13. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING ABUSIVE OR FOUL LANGUAGE WHILE IN ALIVE. This means toward members and non league members as well. Arguing with non league members is not acceptable. Filters are provided and if you are easily offended, please use them. However, we have several members who aren’t aware of the filters as well as several younger members who do not need to be subjected to this behavior. Purposely misspelling a word or abbreviating it in anyway with intentions of using it in the foul or disrespectful manner is not acceptable either. We also ask that you refrain from making sexually explicit comments towards other members. If you find yourself being harassed by another member, please do not insist on arguing back with them. Instead, feel free to contact a td, htd or admin immediately. Keep in mind, a member cannot harass you in messenger without your "permission" as it's always possible to put them on "iggy". Keep in mind, while some words might be considered "bad" in some countries, they aren't always considered bad in others.

14. FORCE FORFEITS are not permitted in tourney games. If you are in a tourney and your opponent leaves the room, please ask the TD for a timer. Timers will consist of a TOTAL of 8 minutes PER TOURNEY. For example, a member is booted during round 1 and returns after 3 minutes and then gets booted again during the next round; he/she will only have 5 minutes to return or they will be disqualified from that tourney. If you are playing an x-game and your opponent is booted, request a td, htd or admin to help you cancel the game.

15. The top 5 ranked players in the league must play "5" ladder games with any of the top 10 when asked. (The #1 ranked player is only obligated to play 3 games) It's at the number "1's" discretion to play anyone below the rank of 10. This means no harassment for the # 1 position. Work your way up gradually and earn the spot. Rank 6-10 must also play 5 ladder games with any of the top 20 when asked. If you fail to correspond to any part of this rule you may be lowered in rank or boxed. Also, be aware that if you are in the top 10 and you are idle in the league for 3 days; your rank will automatically be dropped.

16. Winners of the TOC will be moved up to the Number 1 position.

17. During 2v2 tournaments, if your partner leaves a timer will be issued and once that timer is up your team is disqualified. Subs will not be permitted in a 2v2. This goes for 2v2 bo3 as well. Once your partner has timed out, your team looses and cannot play further.

18. The first name listed in the pairings will invite their opponent to the table for the match.

19. Spammers are reserved for the X8B TD's. Therefore we ask that members NOT spam in the lobby in an effort to minimize lobby confusion during tourneys. ANY MEMBER CAUGHT SPAMMING THE XTREME8BALL LEAGUE IN ANOTHER ROOM WILL BE IMMEDIATELY BANNED FROM THE LEAGUE. This is against Cases rules and will result in X8B being shut down. Therefore, please don't think you're doing it to help us out.

20. BOOTING ANOTHER MEMBER FROM ALIVE OR FROM A TABLE WILL BUY YOU SOME TIME IN THE BOX OR POSSIBLY BANNED. This causes delays in tourneys, confusion and unnecessary hostility among members.

21. Each new tournament match must be played on a new table.

22. THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS HAVE THE FINAL SAY IN ALL ISSUES. Please do not pressure the tournament directors to close their tourney. Every attempt will be made to close the tourney in a timely manner and as always there is usually an issue being resolved which might hold up the closing.

We have tried to cover pretty much everything, but as with everything rules are open to interpretation. If you need clarification on any of the rules, feel free to contact one of our admin, and remember if an admin tells you it is a rule, then it is. No arguing.
