General Staff Rules
***PLEASE NOTE*** We require all staff to
be active in Maiden. If you are idle from hosting
for 31 days, you will be removed from the TD team unless you have
contacted a TD Manager with a valid reason. If something happens to keep you from hosting your minimum please contact a TD Manager and let them know what is going on. We understand sometimes things happen that will keep you from being able to host, but if you don't have contact with us we may end up removing you for inactivity.
Vacation/Active Exempt With a
"Vacation" status you will not be allowed to host or play.
This status will be allowed for 31 days after which time you will be
removed and placed back on active.
In order to ensure that
our members recognize our staff, name changes will only be allowed once
every 6 months. The exception to this is staff that has had a recent
promotion from TD to HTD or HTD to Admin. These staff members will be
allowed to change their name upon promotion if they wish. However, they
must then keep that name for 6 months. **All name changes need to be posted in TD Forum so all staff are aware of
them.**
If your name gets banned by yahoo, we ask you make new name as close as possible to old name and post change in td forum.
If If you withdraw from the
league, you lose your TD account. If this happens, we cannot retrieve
your stats. If you need bux please do NOT withdraw. Notify an admin and
we will get bux for you.
If you notice lobby
behavior that is unacceptable, please notify an ADMIN. If no admin are
available, then please get a HTD. If there are no admin or HTD
available, please send an IM to the person. If they do not answer your
IM's, please make a table and invite them. If you have trouble getting
them to the table, then please go to the lobby and ask that they accept
your invite. Handle the situation the best you can, do NOT get
confrontational or abusive. Please make sure that you take Screen shots
and email them along with a description of what happened to any admin.
Also, please leave admin
an offline that there was an issue in the lobby and you took care of it.
If you do not know how to take screen shots, please notify an admin and
we will teach you how. This information is IMPERATIVE for you as a staff
member in Maiden
Behavior
As a staff member in Maiden,
you are a representative at all times. Your behavior in lobby, IM's,
League games and Tourney tables is under constant watch. You should lead
members by example. If you are in the lobby cursing, being rude, vulgar
or disrespectful, you are telling our members that this behavior is
acceptable..IT IS NOT!!! Please conduct yourself as a professional
at all times when in Medium Strip or handling a league issue.
Staff are subject to the same set of rules and punishments as our members. Publicly defacing or degrading the league can result in your demotion or removal from staff in Maiden. Staff members that are found to be cheating in any way are subject to immediate removal from staff with no warnings given. Continually breaking league rules or repeated occurrences of being boxed are also ground for removal from staff and league. You may not host while in the box. If you are boxed for any reason, you will be placed on vacation status and banned from the league message forum for the duration of your boxing.
Do not discuss TD matters
in the lobby!! This belongs in private IM's. If you have a problem with
another staff member, please try to work it out between yourselves. We
are all adults. If you cannot work it out between the two of you then
please go to any admin. They will try their best to assist you. If they
feel that they cannot help you, then they will forward the issue to the
appropriate admin.
Caps are for TD and or Admin on duty, If you feel the need to make an annoucment clear an Admin and or TD in charge for that hour. If you find your self in a long conversation not concerning tourney please cap down til you have completed your conversation.
RESPECT - If you have a problem with another TD plz come to one of the Admin Managers
with the problems, we will address them. We as staff are held at higher levels than just members but we also are
members and we do play spades. So please have respect for the tds hosting these tourneys for us.
As a member of the hosting staff, sometimes things happen, and either you or a fellow TD will struggle. If this happens, please ask for help from another td or help out your fellow TD. We are a team, we are here to help each other and make things fun for the members of this league! All tourneys should have the name of the tourney clearly listed on the main tourney page as well as in the location box of your tourney. All tourney rules must match the game type listed on main tourney page. If these do NOT match, and it is not noticed until after tourney is closed, then you must host the tourney according to the game rules page NOT the main tourney page. Please be sure when pasting the rules to your tourney page that you use. This assures that our members are not confused when playing in our tourneys.
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR TOURNEY BEFORE YOU CREATE When you make your tournaments, BE SURE that you set everything before clicking on create. Make sure you set the right number of players per team, (and the correct number of rounds, 8 is always a sure thing) and set your box if you are charging them. Also be sure you type in the kind of tournament after Medium Strip location. Example: MEDIUM STRIP REGULAR RATEDBOOTED PLAYERS A member that hs been booted from the lobby and or is not payying attention tor is currently not in room when pairings are annouced time to play needs to be placed on a timer immediatly. In a 2 vs 2 there is a TEAM total of 10 min. Example: If John gets booted and he is on timer and sub is requested at 6 min timer stops and game is to continue with sub. If John returns and his partmer gets booted then the team only has a remainder of 4 minutes remaining for that team Players get 3 min for brb's and 3 brb's total per game. If they are gone longer than 3 min. you put them on timer formt he time they went on brb (check ping for idle time). So if they said brb at 12 and then 3 min pass...you start timer at 12..not at 12:03.
If you find a player playing slow ask them if they are ok if their ping is fine ask them to speed up a bit. Considering you asked the player to speed up you should have this table in the forefront so you can watch them closely. If they are still playing slow check their time if they are taking over 45 secs to play then issue them their 1st b> Same Household are not allowed to partner each other , if same household join a random tourney and are partnered together a sub will be gotten for one of them. They will be allowed to play against each other in singles tourneys or in doubles tourneys as the TD reports the matches. They may not play as subs against or for one another in League or Tourney games.
