UIC CAM RULES

Make sure that you read and understand these rules – ignorance is no excuse!
Categories of rules and expected penalties are listed at the bottom of this page – READ THEM !

These rules are additional to, and to be read in conjunction with, the rules
as laid down by the Administrators of the Case’s ladder system.

The Administrators of the UIC reserve the right to modify these
rules from time to time as new situations arise.

Every effort will be made to inform all UIC members of any and all such rule changes.

If you cannot, or if you refuse to, abide by these rules then the UIC is NOT the place for you and it is strongly suggested that you move on.

    UIC CAM MATCH ROUTINE

UIC CAM players are reminded/warned that ALL players MUST be in attendance BEFORE the match is due to commence - latecomers will NOT, repeat NOT, be able to play - reason is that it would defeat the purpose of all playing at the same time - please don't think that you can come late and play because you wont be able to - this idea was instituted to cut down on possible cheating and we don't want any of that do we?

Amendment dated 28th October 2007 >>> There will be a 5 minute grace period after the start deadline so that Captains can have a chance to chase up tardy players after which the match must go ahead and further latecomers cannot play unless the opposing Captain is OK with it.

Amendment dated 28th October 2007 >>> Matches will now commence at 7pm instead of 6pm.

Captains and players meet at their match HQ.
Home Team captain selects side for all games at each table.
Away team Captain puts up their first player - Home team Captain matches this player.
Away team Captain puts up their second player - Home team Captain matches this player.
Away team Captain puts up their third player - Home team Captain matches this player.

Players then depart from HQ to separate tables for each game.

On completion of each game in the match-up:
    Players return to match HQ.

Report their games to the HQ
    Then upload tapes.
Remain at HQ until tape has uploaded

Whether or not they remain at table until tapes clear is optional

Captains report match results to UIC CAM forum

    UIC CAM RULES

    1. PROVISIONAL NAMES (providing they have a minimum of 1200 Yahoo! rating) may now join UIC. (The reason for this is that Yahoo!, in their infinite wisdom, have deactivated a number of rares which has caused many problems throughout home leagues and Interleagues).

    2. Any screen name used must match your yahoo name and your current league name exactly. (with the following exceptions):

Where Cases doesn't accept the 'dot' IDs you must sign in with an underscore and then change it to the dot via the user editor link on the main page - failure to do so will result in you playing under an incorrect ID and thereby culminating  in a disqualification.

If you are unable to do this yourself then ask one of the leadership team to do it for you but it is your responsibility to check that it has been done.

Where Cases doesn't accept overly long names use a shortened version of it to sign up and an admin will change it for you.

Any @sbc.global.net names are permitted to use the first part of the name.  (i.e: lst.judge@sbc.global.net would be permitted to use lst.judge).

If you change your league name, please let a UIC Admin know so that changes can be made to UIC pages (updating new name in player stats, team lists, etc..).

Searching and matching new names is a very time consuming exercise that Admins have to undertake every week and one that we would rather do without, so please be considerate.

    3. Any screen name used must have at least 20 games played in your home league with that name and must be active within the week prior to any match. Any member found to be manipulating their home league statistics in this instance will be penalized accordingly!

    4. All games will be played on Friday evenings, 6pm est, in Logen ll (Denmark).  Matches will consist of 3 vs 3 and format will be a 1 vs 1.

    5. CAMTASIA IS A REQUIREMENT TO PARTICIPATE!  No plans of getting Cam? No need to join UIC Cam Division.  If you do not currently have the camtasia program, you may download it on the main page listed under the General Area - Cam Download.  If the registration key listed does NOT work please contact Joe/G.oDiFiEd @ fvc_y0u or Julie/XTC.Goddess @ xtc.goddess for a working key.  Please be sure to have the correct camtasia version name so we may assist in giving you a working key for the specific version needed.

    6. If a player is not present to play the game or is idle at the table, a 7 minute timer will be issued. lf a player gets BOOTED during the game, a 10 minute timer will be issued, 10 minute timers ONLY APPLY IF A PLAYER HAS BEEN BOOTED!

There are a couple different options you have if a player has been booted:

        A) The player comes back on time and didn't lose the tape, the game continues, and tapes are sent as normal.

        B) The player comes back on time but lost the tape. You can do one of two things.

           1) Players agree to play on and tapes are sent. (including any part recordings)

           2) If a player doesn't agree to play on you may re-rack that game. If the player gets booted a second time, in that same game, and loses the tape again, the opposing player has the option to take that game win.

        C) The player does not come back on time, he/she forfeits that game and opposing player will be awarded the win.

    7. YOU MUST SEND YOUR TAPES TO YOUR ASSIGNED CV OR TO THE UIC LEADERSHIP TEAM WITHIN 10 MINS AFTER GAME IS COMPLETED - YOU WILL HAVE 30 MINS MAX TO GET YOUR TAPES IN (or send proof of tape being uploaded/sent for UIC Leadership Team to review). THIS IS A REQUIREMENT!! IF OPPOSING PLAYER REQUESTS TAPE YOU MUST ALSO SEND IT TO THEM (sending the tape to opponent if requested is required but is optional if no request has been made). Failure to send in tapes on required time/allowed time will result in an automatic DQ, giving your opponent the win, as long as their tape clears!! Penalties will and may include - an overturn in win causing your team to lose the match, possible boxing, or whatever may be suitable for the situation in question. So make sure you GET THE TAPES IN ASAP.

    A) However, we will allow a 4 hour time period to send tapes in, ONLY under uncontrollable circumstances, meaning those who may run into computer problems or any other emergency. You MUST contact the Cam Division Admin to discuss this to avoid any penalties. Abuse of this special allowance will result in the removal of this rule.

    B) There are 3 ways you can send your tapes, YIM, EMAIL, or www.YOUSENDIT.com. If you choose to use the email option please email tapes to uic-cam@poolplayers.us, or to your opponents email if requested. We will NOT chase you for the tapes, instead, we will award your opponent the win.

    8. If a players tape is unable to be viewed, even though they sent them, but simply didn't use the right settings, they will be penalized by asking to correct the cam settings and replay the game. If it is recorded incorrectly again then that player will be DQ'D.
    Example:
The player wins, but settings were wrong [no time stamp, full screen or no task bar]. Score stands as is and the player with the incorrect settings MUST correct them and REPLAY that game. If the player with incorrect settings refuses to correct and replay the game, the win will be overturned, giving opponent the game win and possibly causing a Team loss.

    9. ALL UIC GENERAL RULES ALSO APPLY! PLEASE READ THEM IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THEM. THEY CAN BE FOUND ON UIC MAIN PAGE OR ON CAM DIV PAGE.

    10. ADMINS WILL REPORT ALL PLAYER LOSSES – Losses will be taken from the usual Captain’s report in the forum - it is NOT necessary for ANY player to report their losses. Any questions, please contact an Admin.
