Managers
are responsible for various things such as selecting players to represent their
league, organizing of your team for each match, the team's behaviour and the
strategy of the matches. It is the responsibility of each Team Manager/Captain to, not only ensure the
eligibility of their own players each week, but those of their opposition. After match is completed,
send in your MVP vote for the opposing teams player (info found on main page under mvp link). Managers
who are unable to responsibly perform the required tasks should think about relinquishing their Manager
duties to a person who can be more reliable and active for his/her league's team.
UIC
WEEKLY 5v5 SEASO
Each
Saturday your league is scheduled to play a match against another league, in 5v5
format. The Manager's responsibility is to have 5 qualified players from your
league chosen and organized long before the match start, and be in the
designated room at least 15 minutes before match time. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE
THE SAME 5 PLAYERS EVERY WEEK. ANY
QUALIFIED PLAYER FROM YOUR LEAGUE CAN PLAY FOR YOU.
(*UIC
Match Formats, Rules, and Player Qualifications can be viewed on the UIC main
page*)
When
the referee is ready to begin, it is the Manager who chooses the order of
players in the 5 game match. The main idea is to strategically use your players
in an order that you think will be good enough to get your league the 3 game
wins it needs to win the match, taking into consideration the skill of the
players used by your opponents. The match ends when all 5 games are completed,
the team with the most games won is declared the winner. Make sure your team
displays sportsmanship and courtesy towards your opponents and the referee.
Never dispute a referee's decision, as they are trained to handle all
situations, of course it is possible that a mistake could be made, but we must
still continue on and not argue the ref, just like in any other team
competition.
MAKING
SURE YOUR PLAYERS ARE QUALIFIED
Here
are the official UIC Players Qualifications. When you choose players to play in
a UIC event, always check to make sure they are qualified to play:
[1]
To represent a league in play, a player must have played at least 20 games on
their league's ladder.
[2]
No Yahoo! provisional ID's will be permitted to play. Players below 1200 rating
are not eligible to play. Boosted
ID's will be allowed.
[3]
No player can play for more than 1 league.
Once
you have played in UIC for 1 league, you can not play for another league in the
same season without prior approval from an Admin.
[4]
When signing up to the UIC ladder, add your league initials and underscore to
the front of your name.
(ex:
maryjane247 from straightshots (ss) would register to UIC as ss_maryjane247)
Your
Yahoo ID, home league ID, and UIC name (after initials) must all match
exactly. (No Exceptions)
*
UIC Reserves the right to remove any players from the ladder who have improper
or no league initials before their name.*
PLAYE
Once
the UIC Season begins, it is illegal for a player to switch leagues whenever
they feel like it. In order to change league representation in UIC, the player
must first get permission from both league's Managers, then report it to UIC
Head Administrator or UIC Co-Head Administrator.
If the switch is approved, then and only then can the player change his
representation initials on the UIC ladder.
Players
who switch representation without permission, will have their league initials
changed back with penalty to follow.
UIC
Admins conduct a daily track of all secured information on every player who
withdraws therefore players who try to withdraw from the UIC then sign back up
with a new league will be caught.
In
between UIC Seasons, there will be a period where players can change league
representation freely.
STAYING
UP TO DATE AS MANAGE
As
Manager, it is your duty to stay up to date with all of your UIC upcoming
scheduled matches. Here are some very important links a Manager can use to keep

CONTROL
YOUR TEAM IN ALL SITUATIONS
The
Manager is responsible for your team's behaviour. If you notice players from
your team displaying unsportsmanlike conduct, it is your duty to speak privately
with them and get them to stop. Smooth matches with no arguments run a lot
faster and better. If you disagree with a ref's decision, you must accept it and
continue on, and make sure your players do the same. UIC Matches are run from headquarter tables, never in the
lobby, so UIC visiting players are absolutely prohibited from speaking in the
opponent's lobby. Spamming,
scrolling, swearing and using caps are NOT allowed during a UIC match.
