What is a tournament?
A tournament is a short-term competition with a scheduled beginning and a specific end. Players must register to play in a tournament.

What does Jump # mean?
If you are already in the game room and the TD gives out a "jump number" you can enter this number into the "Jump Box" on our main page to open the tournament registration page.

Why after registering for a tourney I was removed from the game?
In most instances this happens when you do not have enough buxx to play. Please ask the host in the room to gift or have someone gift buxx to you so that you will be able to play in the next tourney.

I received an e-mail invitation to play in a TOC, what is this?
If you have received an invitation to play in a Tourney of Champions that is because you have won a tourney in the prior month. If you are invited you need not register as you are already registered, however you must check in. If you are not checked in you will automatically be removed from the tourney.

What time should I show up to play in a tournament?
You should arrive at least 15 minutes early to be sure that you are signed up, checked-in and ready to play.

There are links to all rooms that we play in on our main page.

If a tournament is 'LadderStats,' matches will be automatically reported to the Ladder on which the tournament was held after the tournament is completed.

WHAT ARE LADDER BUXX AND WILL THEY AFFECT MY POGO ACCOUNT?
Ladder buxx are used on the cases ladder system and in no way affect your pogo account or tokens. Pogo has given us permission to run tournaments in their game rooms and playing in games will not hinder your chances to win the jackpot either.

WHAT ARE LADDER BUX FOR AND HOW DO I EARN THEM?

New td’s must first run a minimum of 10 tournaments before progressing on to Swiss format and being able to charge buxx entry fees.

WHAT ARE BONUS BUX OR A “GIFTED” TOURNAMENT?
Some tournaments will have “bonus bux” awarded to the winner of the tournament. In order to win these bonus bux, you must be declared the winner of the tournament by the td and they will automatically be added to your account. As well you may see that a tournament has a number of bux “gifted” to the winner by another td or member. WHY IS A PLAYERS TOKEN COUNT GIVEN DIFFERENT FROM WHATS SHOWN BY THEIR NAME IN WHO’S HERE?
Pogo has many servers and refreshes the who’s here token counts at different times and therefore it does not always represent the true amount of tokens at any given time. That is why in many games you are instructed where to obtain your token count to report. Your own tokens will update but other players may take awhile before they update. That is we are are based on honesty and places this trust on all members to accurately report their token counts. Remember the golden rule, "do unto others"

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SINGLE ELIMINATION (SE), DOUBLE ELIMINATION (DE) AND SWISS TOURNAMENTS?
Single elimination means you will play each round until you lose a match. At that time, you have been eliminated from that tournament. Double elimination means you will play until you have lost twice. At that time, you have been eliminated from that tournament. In Swiss tournaments all players play all rounds, win or lose.

HOW LONG IS A TOURNAMENT AND HOW DO YOU WIN?
A tournament’s length varies depending on the number of players and the way the winners per round advance. A winner is determined when there is one player who has not lost a round. Typical tournaments run 3 to 5 rounds.
