FTW Rules!
FTW RULES
EFFECTIVE January 9, 2006
1. Your FTW ladder id must exactly match your yahoo player id. Failure to have an identical id will cause you to be dq'd (disqualified) from the game you are registered in.
2. Players are allowed one cases id for this league. If found to have more than one id you will be asked to remove it and given 72 hours to do so or the player will risk losing all ids by being removed from the ladder.
3. If there are 2 players from the same household u must make adminstration aware that there is more than one id in the household or risk losing all ids. People playing from the same household are not allowed to play in partners tourneys with each or sub each other. The only exception would be if there are no other players/subs. If this occurs we recommend that the subs available change so this does not occur. If opposing subs do not want to change then the game will be played out with the pair in the same household playing with each other but no complaints will be valid in this case.
4. You must have an active email address to be a part of this league. Failure to have an active email could cause the player to be removed from the FTW ladder .
5. All regular style games should be played on rated and protected tables, tables should never be private unless there is a problem with a non-member.
6. When pairs are posted first name makes tbl and gets first choice of seats. eg deth/clo vs kitty/fake deth would make tbl and pick seats.
7. When a sub is needed both players will pick there subs if both players pick the same sub it is up to the sub to decide who they want to sub for as subbing is not mandatory so it is the subs choice. Tds are alowed to sub but are not required to so if a td says no please dont take it the wrong way as it means that they are busy making sure the turny runs ok.
8. You can't play on 2 tables or in 2 turny at once (ie/while in tourney can not be playing another game/subbing/turny etc. failure to follow this rule will result in a DQ. But playing unrated games where u can leave it at any time or playing with bots is ok just pay attention to td so you dont hold up turny.
9. Kibitz off, this is because of having multiple episodes of players not in the league coming to the table and calling out the cards you have. The TD will check to see that the kibitz is off so please turn it off. This is a rule that I know many of you do not care for, so the ultimate decision is yours. We as TD's will not create a ruckus over it but this is for your protection. The only time that the Kibitz will stay on is during a reverse tournament where the TD must watch to see that the person making trump has one natural trump.
10. Bots cannot be used for any Cases games, outside of a bot tourney.
11. All decisions made during a tournament are made by the TD. The TD'S decision is final so please respect this.
12. There will be no loners on 9. This rule must be adhered to. If this happens it will be considered a mistake and skipping will take place..if dealer or dealers partner makes the mistake skip once...if opposition make mistake skip twice..the only time loners on 9 come into play is when the LONERS ONLY tournament is played.
13. Bagging and donating are allowed in FTW so please be aware of this and play at your own risk. 14. Crazy games are at the discretion of the Td. They will provide rules for the game on their registration page and prior to the game. Crazy game rules can be found on the main page. In any dispute the Tds rules will take prcedence as per rule 11. If DQed during a turny due to mistakes u may NOT sub in later rounds.
15. Game seeding is at the discretion of the T.D running the tournament.
16. Allotted times for the games will be 20 minutes. If at the end of 20 the game is not completed the games will end with the team that is ahead winning that round. Should it be a tie the hand will be played out.
17. While playing cases games the losers are to report thier loss to both winners. You have 24 hours to do this but if reported straight away it keeps the league stats up to date.
18. Players in a league team that sub for 2 people playing against each other will only be considered a cases game if both parties agree. It is not compulsory for sub game to be cases...if cases is agreed then the losing sub reports the loss.
19. If someone fails to report a loss for a cases game contact the non-reporter or file a Non Report. Please IM them if they owe you a report and you see them in Advanced 2 playing. Always be polite, nice and show common courtesy. If they still fail to report--Please contact either dethsdragon
or cloverjo
Please do this after the 24 hours have elapsed but do NOT wait over 2 days or this will not be done. If 3 days have passed and report has not been submitted the cases game is void. Failure to Report Cases Games will result in the following penalties: Each game counts as one non report. After 3 non reports, you will be boxed one day. Each non report after that, you will be boxed three days.
20. If a person is booted (either a regular player or sub) from the table or room DO NOT EVER use a robot or force forfeit a game. Should this occur the game would start from the score that the ff game ended at by starting a new game on the same table with the same dealer that was the dealer when ff occurred. The game will be finished from the score at the old table. Example if score 9-5, the first team to 10 wins by using the old previous score. If this is during a partner tourney the game will end and the team that was ff will advance.
21. If booted from game you have 10 minutes to return to the game or you will be disqualified (dq'd). This rule reads differently in a partners tourney or as a sub during regular game. a. Should a sub get booted you may wait 3 minutes before replacing the sub with another sub. b. Should the original sub return they are to get the seat back and continue the game. c. The second sub will only be required to report if they finish the game. d. Should the original sub not return the report loss will be by the subs finishing the game. To ensure that the original sub does all they can to get back, if his team loses they will be required to report the loss. Please read rule 23 regarding subs in partners tourney.
22. If when pairings are released a player is missing a 10 minute timer will be put on he/she. If he/she has not returned by the time the 10 minutes are up he/she will be disqualified. The remaining player will be asked to get a sub to play and opponent will get auto advance to next round. It is here that the option is given to the player whose partner has advance if he/she would also like a sub or keep the same player. If a sub is taken by both players this will not be made a cases games unless both parties agree on it. This option of both players having a sub stand in on disqualification only apply's at the beginning of the game.
23. During partner tournaments, if a partner of a team does not show or is booted the game will wait for the partner to return for 3 minutes at that the end of the 3 minutes the game will resume with a sub. If the partner returns the sub with relinquish the seat to the original player immediately. If the partner has not returned at the start of the next round the time the remaining 7 minutes or the timer will be started. When the 7 minutes have elapsed the team with the missing partner will be disqualified.
24. Double eliminations will be played at the discretion of the td running the tourney. Whether they run the tourneys by the report page or standings page is at the td's discretion. Please be aware that the two ways are different one by report the other by standing page, which all can see. The two ways may be different but sill end in the same results. The report page may differ from what is seen on the standings page. The manner in which they run their tournament will be posted in the rules of the game. Now if a player in 1 vs 1 dbl. or swiss times out in the first game but returns in time for the next pairings they may play but if they are booted or time would have to be started on them again they will be automatically disqualified. Mistakes in crazy games during Swiss and Double Elim tourneys - 1 mistake per round. 2nd mistake is a DQ from that round but you may still play the next round. NOTE-Doubles get 2 losses then you are out. Swiss can play all rounds win or lose.
25. After much thought and consideration,We the Admin Team, Have decided to do away with the "Formal Challenge" option. Formal Challenges have caused FTW more Greif than Pleasure,We have confirmed with Cases/Myleague that we do not have to have this option if we do not want to, We are going to go without that option for a trial period and see how we do without it. This ofcourse does not mean We want or will promote top 10 "ladder hogs". Cases games are the best way to move up the ladder, When not in tournaments,We strongly recommend you take advantage of Cases games. If you want to try to move around on the ladder, Simply ask for a cases game..If you are in the top 10..You have the Right to Cases games, If others in the top 10 decline your request of a cases game, and you feel it is keeping you from gaining a lower rank or the #1 spot...Come to the Admin team ASAP and We will see to it, That you get the cases game you are desiring.
26. Be respectful to the fellow player; remember we are just playing a game. Failure to be respectful will not be looked upon kindly. If in fact your found to be disrespectful or rude and brought to the attention of the administrators. The persons involved will be brought before the administrators in a private meeting allowing all parties to give their side. If found to be severe enough the player or players could be boxed or banned. First incident will be a warning. Second incident will be ? days in the box. Any further issues the player will be banned from the league. We are here to have fun so please keep in mind all have different ways they play and our td's do the best job they can. Please note that the amount of time being boxed will depend on the severity of the issue. Things considered disrespectful are habitual swearing or foul language; questioning another player in the lobby about how or why they play the way they do, if you feel you must do this take it private!; personal issues or grudges with other players in the lobby or at the table, again take it private we don't want to know or get involved!
27. Have fun and play fun.
