Most games can be played in true swiss format.

REGULAR GAMES

GENERAL RULES FOR REGULAR GAMES: All tables are rated and protected in regular games. Regular games are regular crib, play to win. General Tournament Rules apply.

121 (A.K.A. "Plain Vanilla"): Set tables 121 rated and protected.

61 (A.K.A. "Quickie"): Set tables 61 rated and protected.

2/61 (A.K.A. "Best of Three"): Set tables 2/61 rated and protected (2 games, 61 length.) The winner is the first person to win two games.

3/61 (A.K.A. "Best of Five"): Set tables 3/61 rated and protected. The winner is the first person to win three games. 3/61 is considered a "snuggle" game, being that it is longer than most games we play. TD's should allow 30 minutes for each round in a 3/61.

2/121 (A.K.A. "Best of Three Snuggler"): Set tables 2/121 rated and protected (2 games, 121 length.) The winner is the first person to win two games. 2/121 is considered a "snuggle" game, being that it is longer than most games we play. TD's should allow 30 minutes for each round in a 2/121. 2/121 can be played one of two ways: Yahoo style or no skunk style. Yahoo counts a skunk as two wins, even if you do not set "double skunks" (which we don't.) In Yahoo style, we allow skunks to stand. In no skunk style, if a skunk alters the outcome of a match, players will remake a 1/121 rated and protected table and will play until someone won two games.

TWISTED (SPECIAL GAME) TOURNAMENTS

GENERAL RULES FOR SPECIAL GAMES: All specials are unrated and protected. Special games can be classed as Lowballs, Tosses, Sudden Deaths, Pokers, and Novelty/Combination/Misc. Each game has like characteristics with games of its own class. General Tournament Rules apply.

LOWBALL GAMES

GENERAL RULES FOR LOWBALL GAMES: Lowball games are all play to lose. The first player to reach 61 points (or 121 points in "snuggle" matches) is considered the LOSER of the match. It is customary in lowball to wish opponents "bad luck", as you win by losing. General Tournament Rules apply.

REGULAR LOWBALL (A.K.A. "Plain Chocolate"): Set tables 61 unrated and protected. Play to lose.

LOWBALL LONG (A.K.A. "Snuggle Lowball"): Set tables 121 unrated and protected, play to lose. This is a "snuggle game." TD's should allow 30 minutes per round.

LOWBALL KEEP 5'S: Set tables 61 unrated and protected. (can also be played 121 unrated.) Must keep all 5's in your hand. Forget and lose the match.

SNAP LOWBALL: Set tables 61 unrated and protected (can also be played 121 unrated.) If your opponent plays a card you must pair it if you can, e.g if they play a six and your holding a six then you must pair that card.

LOWBALL LONDONATOR: Set tables 121 unrated and protected. Each player will receive ONE crib EACH ,the player with the lowest points after this wins the match ,if scores are level the game will proceed for another crib EACH.

LOWBALL WITH BOTS: Set tables 4 player 121 unrated and protected. Invite a bot to play as your partner. Play to lose, even though your bot partner isn't!

TOSSING GAMES

GENERAL RULES FOR TOSSING GAMES: Tosses are normally set 121 unrated and protected, but not always. The designated cards that are held in a player's hand (max =2) must be thrown into the crib regardless of who owns the crib (with the exception of Go Fish. If you have more than two of the designated toss cards in your hand, then you may toss any two. For example, in a Toss 7/8, if you hold 7788JJ then you may either toss 77, 78, or 88. If you forget to toss the designated cards, you lose the match. General Tournament rules apply.

TOSS 5's: Must toss all 5's into the crib.

TOSS 7's and 8's (A.K.A. "Mike's Butt Biter"): Must toss all 7's and 8's into the crib.

TOSS 3's, 6's and 9's: Must toss all 3's, 6's and 9's into the crib

TOSS RED/TOSS BLACK: Must toss all cards of the designated color into the crib

TOSS CLUBS/DIAMONDS/HEARTS/SPADES: Must toss all cards of the designated suit into the crib

GO FISH: Before either player discards to the crib, the player who owns the crib will ask for two cards of their choice. If you have either one of both of these cards, you must throw these cards into the crib. If you don't have any, you must say "GO FISH." Forgetting to throw the correct card(s) or not saying "GO FISH" will result in a loss.

SUDDEN DEATH GAMES

GENERAL RULES FOR SUDDEN DEATH GAMES: Sudden death games are normally set 121 unrated, but not always. Play is like regular crib, but there is an event which can stop the match prematurely. If the match is stopped, a determination is made to see who wins based on the rules for said game General Tournament rules apply

COWPIE (A.K.A. Minefield): In all cowpies, if you land in 30, 60, 90 or 120 after hand count, you step in it and lose. If you lose via cowpie, ask the TD for the hose if he/she hasn't handed it to you. There are three variations to handle the case if both players cowpie at the same time:
• Regular cowpie (Sam's): Game continues on as normal.
• Poker cowpie: Players will play a hand of poker to decide the winner. See "Poker Run" for information on how to play the poker hand.
• Robin's third way: Player without the crib loses because he/she counted first, and thus cowpies first.
TD MUST specify which variation he/she is using in the rules. If he/she doesn't, it defaults to Sam's.

RUNNING WILD: In this game, if you have a run of 5 at hand count, you win. If both players have a run of 5, the player without the crib wins because he/she counts first.

SUDDEN DEATH: The TD announces a card. If that card is cut and you have the crib, you win. TD can designate the card ahead of time (ex: Sudden Death on the Queen) or he/she may announce the card at tourney time or at the start of each round.

DEATH BY CARD (A.K.A. Suicide): The TD announces a card. If that card is cut and you have the crib, you lose. TD can designate the card ahead of time (ex: Death by Queen, Suicide Kings) or he/she may announce the card at tourney time or at the start of each round.

GOOD QUEEN BAD QUEEN: If a red queen is cut and you have the crib, you win, if a black queen is cut and you have the crib, you lose. Variation: TD may designate a card other than queens for this treatment (ex: good king bad king, etc.)

SEX IN THE CITY: This game must be played 121 unrated and protected. If you land in 69 after hand count, you win. If both land in 69, the player without the crib wins because he/she counted first.

POKER RUN TOURNEYS

GENERAL RULES FOR POKER RUN TOURNEYS: Poker Runs are always set 2/61 or 2/121 unrated, play two games of crib, and if the match is tied a 1-1, you play a hand of poker to decide the winner. Invite the TD to the table in the event of a poker hand being required. To determine the makeup of the poker hand ,each player is to discard two cards to the crib, then the 4 held cards plus the cut card will be the hand that determines the match. Any crib points earned in game 3 do not count and are inconsequential. TD may kibitz to assist players unfamiliar with poker hands. General Tournament rules apply. Order of poker hands are: Royal Flush, Straight Flush,5 of a kind (if there are wild cards), 4 of a kind, full house, flush, straight, 3 of a kind, 2 pair, 1 pair, highest card (ace high.)

POKER RUN: Set tables for 2/61 unrated and protected. Play two games of regular 61. If the match is tied 1-1, the match is decided by poker hand.

"SNUGGLE" POKER RUN: Set tables for 2/121 unrated and protected. Play two games of regular 121. If the match is tied 1-1, then the match is decided by poker hand. Because this is a "snuggle" game, TD's should allow 30 minutes per round to play.

POKER SWITCHAROO: Set tables 2/61 unrated and protected. The first game is regular 61, the second is played as 61 lowball. If the match is tied 1-1, then the match is decided by poker hand.

STRIP POKER RUN: Set tables 2/61 unrated and protected. Play two games of Sex on the Beach (Toss 6's and 9's). If the match is tied 1-1, the match is decided by poker hand. Note: Forgetting to toss 6's and 9's during the crib part results in loss of MATCH (not just the game.) You do NOT have to toss 6's and 9's during the poker part.

POKER RUN WITH WILD CARDS: Set tables for 2/61 unrated and protected. Play two games of regular 61. If the match is tied 1-1, the match is decided by poker hand. The designated wild cards apply to the poker part ONLY.

OTHER POKER VARIATIONS: Poker runs have two parts to them: the crib part and the poker part. Any crib game may be substituted for the two games of regular crib. For the poker part, the TD may designate wild cards or play lowball in poker (worst poker hand.) An example might be: Toss 5's poker with 5's wild, lowball poker with lowball in poker, or cowpie poker with deuces wild. Note: If a sudden death game is played and the game-stopping event occurs, the match is stopped and a winner is determined.

BLACKJACK: Set tables 121 unrated and protected. Each person gets ONE crib EACH. The player closest to 21 without going over wins. If both players go over or both players tie then the game is reset.

2/61 BLACKJACK: Set tables 2/61 unrated, play two games of reg 61 as in a poker run. But if tied 1-1, play blackjack. If you have to reset table in case both players go over, reset a 121 unrated table. Like poker runs, the two games of reg 61 can be replaced by any crib game.

COMBINATION TOURNEYS: These are tourneys a TD invents by combining two or more games into one. For example, combining Sex on the Beach (a tossing game) with Sex in the City (a sudden death game), you get "Sex on the City Beach." In this combination game, you must toss the 6's and 9's and landing in 69 after a hand count wins. Combination tourneys are limited to the TD's imagination.

MISCELLANEOUS TOURNEYS

GENERAL RULES FOR MISCELLANEOUS TOURNEYS: Miscellaneous tourneys are those that can be regular or special, or those that are tied to a specific type of tourney (SE, DE, RS or TS), or those that are played as teams. All miscellaneous tourneys have protected tables. They are rated or unrated depending on whether they are regular or special. General Tournament Rules apply (except in cheaters as modified.)

PARTNERS (A.K.A. "2 vs 2"): Set table four player 121 rated and protected (normally but not always so.) The team appearing on the left of match postings is to invite. Partners tourneys can be set either as random partners or find your own. If a partners tourney is random partners, you sign up individually and will be randomly assigned a partner at the start of the tourney. For a find your own partner tourney, you may ask in the lobby for a partner, or "go auto." If you go auto, you will be randomly assigned a partner at the start of the tourney. If a Partners tourney is a double elimination, it is generally 121 rated top, 61 rated cellar (but not always so.) Any game can be played in a Partners tourney. The most common ones being regular 121 and lowball 61. Subs are allowed for partners tourneys if one player of a team does not show

ALTERNATING PARTNERS (A.K.A. "Four Player"): Set table four player 121 rated and protected (normally but not always so.) The games will be played as partners but register for tourney as a single member. The players on the left of standings will play the players on the right of standings. If there are odd matches in a round, they play as two player. Read standings from top to bottom for pairings. Your partner will change each round. Tourney is usually a regular swiss or true swiss but can be an elimination tourney. If it is an elimination tourney, the finals are played as two player. If it is a double elimination tourney, the top and cellar are separate, they do not play together. Subs are allowed for alt partners tourneys if one player of a team does not show, but the timer is also used on that person because it's 1v1.

CHEATERS: Set table four player 121 unrated and protected. This tourney can be either played as a 2v2 partners or as Alt Partners. Play like a regular partners game, except you can cheat in any way you can. This normally means talking to your partner with Instant Messenger. Kibitzing is allowed in Cheaters, all other General Tourney Rules apply.

MEET THE PUBLIC: This tourney may be of any type. Set tables 4 player 121 rated and protected. Invite the public (non league members) as partners.

1 vs 1 vs 1: This tourney is always a single elimination. The TD has set this tourney so that 3 people play per match. If there are any two player matches in the first round, set tables 121 rated and protected. For three player matches, set tables 61 rated and protected. The two leftmost or top two shown in the standings sit and start. All 3 people are to be invited to the table. The loser stands and the out player sits after each game, this continues until one player has won 2 matches in a row. If no winner is determined after six games, the seventh game will decide the winner of the match.

TRIATHLON: This tourney is set as a 3 round true swiss. A different game will be played in each round. TD's can create themed triathlons (all three games relating to each other) to generate interest. HI-LO SWISS: Can be set as either a true or regular swiss. Each round of the swiss will alternate between 121 rated (high) and 61 rated (low) games.

THE OTHER HI-LO SWISS (A.K.A. "Black and White"): Can be set as either a true or regular swiss. Each round of the swiss will alternate between 121 rated (high or white) and 61 lowball unrated play to lose (low or black) games.

HI-LO DOUBLE ELIMINATION: The top bracket plays 121 rated games and the bottom bracket plays 61 unrated lowball.

NAME YOUR GAME: Can be set as either a true or regular swiss. Before each round is progressed, the TD will announce “NAME YOUR GAME” in the lobby, the first person to answer has chosen the game to be played by everyone in the round. The same game cannot be chosen twice and it is TD discretion as to whether a player who has previously chosen a game can do so again. All named games must be games that are played in Mycribbage.

TRIVIA TOURNEY: Can be set as either a true or regular swiss. Before each round is progressed, the TD will ask a trivia question. The first person to answer the question correctly will name the game to be played by everyone in the round. The same game cannot be chosen twice and it is TD discretion as to whether a player who has previously chosen a game can do so again. All named games must be games that are played in Mycribbage. Trivia tourneys may be themed in order to generate interest.

INVITER'S CHOICE: Can be set as any tourney type. As the pairs are announced, the inviting player names his/her game in the lobby and sets table accordingly. All named games must be games that are played in Mycribbage.

MASQUERADE: Set tables 121 rated and protected (normally but can play any game.) Please register for the tourney using your normal league ID. Create a new ID preferrably as a profile to your existing one and come into the room with your new ID 5 minutes before the tourney starts, but do not tell others who you are. (They have to guess.) Let the TD know via messenger what your new ID is (so that the TD knows who has won and the tourney can progress.) The TD will not progress rounds durning the tourney so that we can not see who we are playing. However, the TD will be keeping track of the games and post results at the end of the tourney. The tourney will progress like a regular swiss. If someone has guessed who you are, you could either confirm their guess or fib through your teeth! Please allow a couple of minutes between rounds for a question and answer session. At the end of the tourney, the TD will post all identities.

WEAKEST LINK: Set tables 121 rated and protected (may also be run 61 rated and protected) This tourney is a paper tourney (Game results are posted to ladder by an Admin.) To register, do not register on the tourney page. Simply be in the lobby before the tourney starts and let the TD know that you wish to play. The TD will confirm all players registered and then randomly pair players together (repeats are a real possiblilty) If there is an odd number, then one player will play the TD (the TD scores will not count.) Both players will announce their score in the lobby. At the end of all the matches, the person with the lowest score will be eliminated. If there is a tie both players will be eliminated. If a player times out they are automatically eliminated along with the player with the lowest score This will continue until there is one player remaining. And this player will be given a win against all other players in the tourney (All other players will receive at most one loss)

MULTIDAY: This tournament can be set as any type, and is generally played with 121 rated and protected games. This tournament is set by the TD to allow it to remain open over several weeks. The TD will announce pairings in the league forum or via email. All participants have one week (unless otherwise stated) to complete their match It is the responsibility of both players to arrange a time to play their match. After one week when the TD needs to advance the round, If there are some games unreported or unplayed, then the TD will make a decision on who is to be given the win. The TD will use as a basis, the player who has tried the hardest via email to find their opponent (yahoo messenger records are not reliable enough) or the player most active during the week and thus most available to have played the game. The TD will not be present during the playing of your game.

SURVIVOR: Is played 3v3 at a 61 rated 2 player table. Invite all members of your team and your opposing team. Teams decide the order of play. The first two players sit and the loser is out and must stand. Play continues until one team has all its players out.
ALTERNATIVE WAY: Still played 3v3 at 61 rated 2 player tables, except each team member plays ONE game and the scores are totaled. The team with the highest score wins the match.

TAG TEAM: Is played 2v2 at a 121 unrated 2 player table. Teams decide who plays first. If an odd card is cut (A-3-5-7-9-J-K), seated players switch seats as in Jumping Jacks, If an even card is cut (2-4-6-8-10-Q), tag out with your partner.

BANANAS AND OTHER MULTIGAME SE'S: A banana is a 121 SE with 2/121 finals. So called because the idea originated from the monkeys. Other variations on this theme include, but are not limited to: 61 with 121 finals, 2/61 with 3/61 finals, "Erotic Banana" (like regular banana but with Sex on the Beach), and hi-lo SE (odd rounds 121, even rounds lowball 61.) These type of tourneys are limited only to the TD's imagination.

BATTLE TOURNEYS: Each month, there are a number of battle tourneys: Battle of the Sexes, Battle of the Leagues, and Staff vs Members. There are two tourneys going on at once, with players signing up on their respective side. These tourneys are generally run as a 121 SE or a 121 RS for both sides of the battle. The winner of each side will face a final battle match that is normally 121 regular (sometimes 2/121 regular.) During this battle match, "cheerleaders" are welcome to come cheer on the winner of your side. An admin reports the final battle match if possible.
