lvlammykins December 2008 Mammy is very special in Gazers! She has been a Gazer most of the time there was a Stargazers league, always generous with her time, and is a friend to all. We love you Mammy (even if I do say you are mean!!) 1. Tell us about yourself. Your family, your hobbies, your work, anything you would like to know about someone else but in reverse. I have been married 40 years to the same, wonderful guy (Steve) & have 2 children; Jeff is 39 & married to Stacey (no kids) and Jennifer is 33 & married to Jason with the twins you all hear me talk about, Jacob & Jenna age 8 and now expecting our lil miracle baby boy, Jeffery in February. 2. Where are you from, where do you live now? Born in Booneville, Arkansas...parents moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when I was 2 years old...met Steve while a student at University of Oklahoma...married & moved to Houston, Texas in 1978 and been here since. 3. After coming into suicide lounge 4, what made you stay? What keeps you in Stargazers? Ironically, I was one of the original Admin team when this awesome league was formed. I apparently lost my mind temporarily for a short while and left, but after successful therapy and the return of my senses, I came back about 3 years ago. This IS my spades home and my ONLINE family! 4. When do you play? Days or hours? I work long hours and am therefore not able to play 24/7 as I did while I was tending to my lil twin lambs the first 2 years of their lives. I am only able to play or host in the 8:00 and/or 10:00 tourneys usually, except when some of my so-called friends talk me into playing the Midnight which kills me the next day at work. :-) 5. What is your favorite game? Pffftttttt....EVERYONE knows Mammy prefers Regular Spades with Nil Only as I consider that the only REAL Spades game....ROFL! 6. What is your least favorite game? ANYTHING except Regular Spades with Nil Only.... But actually I think my least favorites would be a tie between Plain Ole Bid 3 & Team Bid 7 both of which I consider totally BORING. I agree with our own Mr. Math (Brian) when he describes such boring games as "Hope & Click" Spades! 7. What advice would you give to a new member or someone wanting to join Stargazers? That is a "NO BRAINER" since Stargazers is the ONLY true family spades league as far as I can tell and I have visited most of the others over my past 10+ years in League Spading. You can look Far & Wide and never find a league with more competitive spaders yet with Caring Hearts as Big & Genuine as our OWN Gazer Family here! 8. Do you have a special memory of something that occurred in Stargazers league that you want to share with Stargazers? It is tough to choose just ONE Memory...but as most of you I will Always remember the Special Love we experienced from Knowing & Loving Rick and we will continue to Love & Miss Him Forever. I HAVE to go on to say, however, My "Special Memories" list would take more space than Bernie has for this Newsletter. Sooo many of you have touched my life in ways you would never expect from "Online" relationships. Thanks to All who have prayed for my daughter during 3 miscarriages and now during these next 3 months as we wait for the arrival of our lil miracle baby boy. 9. Once again, you are a TD. What makes you want to do this? The Mental Therapy that I mentioned earlier in Question #3 luckily came with a warranty and I am looking into returning for a subsequent round of sessions soon (lol). Noooo... seriously I agreed to return as a TD for the Excellent Pay & Coinciding Benefits Package Fuzzy & Nutty offered me.... Pfffttttt Just Kidding! I am not as good at running tourneys as I used to be as I seem to stress easier than I once did; but I TD because I have always felt it is my responsibility to Give Back in some small way to the League that gives me SOOOOO much enjoyment night after night. 10. I want to thank the Admin & Gazers Staff for continuing to provide this Wonderful, Family Spades League and for all the Love & Caring you have all shown me over the years.
