hot_melted_chocolate22 August 2008 Dorothy is awesome! If there is anyone that does not like Dorothy, they have a serious problem! I have never seen Dorothy upset or angry. She is one of the most even tempered person in the league. One of the questions I should have asked Dorothy was HAVE YOU EVER MET A PERSON YOU DIDNT LIKE???? Dorothy won this years Good Sportsmanship Award. And she so deserved it. Here was her Questions and Answers TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF: I am a 43yrs old single mother of one (daughter) and a grand daughter, they are my life. I have 5 brothers and 3 sister, both of my parents are decease. My siblings and I are very close, we try to spent as much time together as possible. I work for the Dept of Mental Health, I have been there for 19 years now. I can say it is not the best paying job but I enjoy what I do for others who are in the need of my help, because the position they are in could as well bee n me. My hobby is playing softball. I have been playing recreational softball for more then 20 years, and I still enjoy playing the game. The body is nothing like what it use to be but I still give it my all. I play women softball and I also play coed softball. I play 1st, 2nd, 3rd and I pitches also, but I learn to play softball playing at 3rd base and if you know anything about softball 3rd base is the hot spot. I am not bragging but I can still hold that base down. I play sometimes 4 nights a week. The ladies where I work tells me all the time "You know you not young anymore", and I tell them speak for yourself. I tell them I maybe 43 but to a man 50 and above I am still a young tender roni ha ha ha. Nothing gets old but your clothes and if you keep them in the closet long enough they will come back in style too ha ha ha. (Dorothys sense of humor is awesome!) WHERE ARE YOU FROM: I was born and raised in Hopkins, South Carolina. I really never left there, I have moved from there twice and if I could have brought my new home there b! elieve I would have. My entire family lives there. Hopkins is a town where just about everyone knows one another. It is a very beautiful peaceful place. Like they say, "There is no place like home". WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN GAZERS AND WHAT KEEPS YOU THERE: There are so many things that keeps me in this league. I really enjoy playing my favorite card, and to be able to play with people that I enjoy playing with. This league is really my family away from my family. I live alone and many times I don't get to see my family and it brings me all the joy in the world to be able to spend my evening playing spades with my extended family. There has been so many times that I have been going through things and the best way for me to ease my mind was to play spades with my friends. I can honestly said I have been in so many different leagues but this league compare to other is one of my favorite. It took me a while to get use to this league but now nothing can drag me away from it. This is the only league that I play in now, thank God I have found home. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for allowing me to be a member of this league, and for treating me with the upmost respect. I love you all WHEN DO U USUALLY PLAY: I have no particular time I play. I play as much as possible, which means all the time lol. FAVORITE GAME: Regular AG LEAST FAVORITE: Strip Mirrors WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A PERSON CONSIDERING JOINING GAZERS OR A NEW MEMBER: I would tell new members that is a wonderful place to play spades and to meet alot of wonderful people. The staff and member are always willing to lend a helping hand. They love to give out lots of hugs here. SPECIAL MEMORY TO SHARE: One of my most memorable time in Gazer was when one of the member passed away. I thought it was so wonderful to see so many people feeling the same way about a person the way that the members of Gazers did. Just sitting here at my computer and reading everything that was being ex press in the lobby and in the forum it really brought tears ! to my eyes to see that there are people who you have never laid your eyes on could really care so much.
