Bernie: The 2nd member to be spotlighted this month is eyeluztaz (Nancy). Nancy has recently become a TD and she is doing great! She is a wonderful person and I think a true asset to Stargazers. Here is what Nancy has to say.

Bernie: 1. Tell us about yourself, your family, your hobbies, your work, anything you would like to know about someone else but in reverse.

Nancy: Hi - my name is Nancy and my ID is eyeluvtaz aka Big Mama. I am 53 and not working due to several health problems. I have a 23 year old daughter who has blessed me with 2 wonderful grandchildren, several step-children, and a host of other peoples’ kids who think they belong to me as well. I have no significant other at this time, but have a dog who thinks he runs the show. Well, maybe he does. Stargazers is like an additional family full of wonderful souls. I am a Spades junkie and have been playing for over 40 years now. This keeps my mind busy and off the pain.

Bernie: 2. Where are you from? Where do you live now? How does living where you live affect the way you play in Stargazers?

Nancy: I currently live in San Jose, California, which is near the area where I was born and raised. I am pretty much a California girl and have been here almost my entire life. When I got ill in 2007, I moved back from Los Angeles to be near my Mom so she could look after me. I had been hospitalized so many times that she felt my daughter and sister were not caring for me adequately. Being in her 80's I couldn't argue the point - no matter how incorrect she was. Living here pretty much allows me to play almost anytime of the day or night.

Bernie: 3. After coming into suicide lounge 4, what made you stay? What keeps you in Stargazers?

Nancy: Once I learned the game of suicide (4 years ago) I started playing in SSL4. It seemed to be the only lounge open with enough people in it to make a table. I always wondered why so many people were watching at certain tables, the ratings were widely spaced, and they were No FF games. I was unaware of Leagues at that time. One night I played with Shawn and he invited me to join. It was free and I thought - why not? I stay because I enjoy the variety of games and all the wonderful friends I have made since joining.

Bernie: 4. When do you play? Days or hours? What is the time difference between where you are and when we play? What do you sacrifice in order to be in Stargazers?

Nancy: I try to play whenever I am not in therapy, at the doctor, or resting. I told you I was a junkie. LOL! Fortunately, I don't have to sacrifice anything to be here. My time difference is 3 hours because I am on the west coast and games are always jumping off when I want to play.

Bernie: 5. What is your favorite game?

Nancy: If I had to pick a favorite game it would be Don't Get Set. However, ALL the games I have encountered since joining have been entertaining and enjoyable.

Bernie: 6. What is your least favorite game?

Nancy: I find that Musical Chairs would be the least likely game for me. I get confused on which seat I got up from and end up standing several times if my partner and I bid the same amount.

Bernie: 7. What advice would you give to a new member or someone wanting to join Stargazers?

Nancy: HAVE FUN!!! That's what life is all about. If your partner makes a mistake, don't get angry. We all make mistakes and you have to realize that it wasn't intentional. I always enjoy winning but remember - someone also has to lose too.

Bernie: 8. Do you have a special memory of something that occurred in Stargazers that you want to share with others?

Nancy: Since I have only been a member for a couple of months - not a lot of things have happened. However, i remember all the love and support given to one of us who had passed away and the outpouring of emotion everyone had for him was amazing. I cried and didn't even know him. Also, I was honored to have been approved as a TD and to be asked to be spotlighted this month along with Cherie.

Bernie: 9. If you are TD/HTD/Admin why in the world would you want to do this when you are already at a disadvantage time wise?

Nancy: I enjoy keeping busy and I feel that being a TD is a way to give back to the league. There is ALWAYS someone ready to play and I want to be able to help in anyway I can. Our TDs are there for us so I want to be there for them and my fellow Stargazers.

Bernie: Thank you, Nancy, for being part of Stargazers. I think that you are awesome and I am happy to have you for a friend!! Lots of hugssssssssssss to you!!
