spades_lova October 2008 Bernie: Marie is the bestest! She lives so close to Rick’s standard, its unreal. When we became friends, it was one of the most special memories I have in Stargazers. Anyone ever needing a friend, or someone to talk to--Marie is the one to go to. Here are her answers: Bernie: 1. Tell us about yourself, your family, your hobbies, your work, anything you would like to know about someone else but in reverse. Marie: I have a wonderful hubby, we have been married for about a year and a half, but have lived together for 10 yrs on Oct 25th. We have been thru so much together and our love is still strong. I have 3 nieces and 3 nephews that I spoil all the time. They are 6 of the best blessings God has given me. My mom and dad have been married 27 yrs and are the best parents ever. My dad adopted me when I was 3 yrs old. He recently told me that he fell in love with me before he did my mom. He has been the best father anyone could ever hope to have! My hobbies are scrapbooking and reading and of course playing Spades! I am now making a scrapbook for my niece Tay (we are very close) of her life... I started from when her parents met and I plan on continuing it until she is 18 and giving it to her on her 18th birthday. I read about a book a week...my favorite authors are Stephen King, VC Andrews and John Grisham. I work with special needs children and adults...right now I’m working in a group home with 8 men. I love my job so much but it is very stressful. I wouldn’t want to do anything else though and would probably do it for free if I didn’t have any bills lol. I have worked for the same company for almost 7 years now. Bernie: 2. Where are you from? Where do you live now? Marie: I’m from Indiana and still live about 30 minutes from my hometown. I will never move too far from my family because I wouldn’t be happy away from them. My hubby and I bought our third house a little over 4 yrs ago. We fixed up and sold the other 2 to get this one. Bernie: 3. After coming into suicide lounge 4, what made you stay? What keeps you in Stargazers? Marie: It was bad_chad that told me I should join the league… and it was Rick that made me stay.. I just loved his spirit and how all of our Stargazers just accepted him for being him. He asked me about a month before he passed on… "spades_lova will u promise me u will always b a gazer?" I said yes Rick I will always be a gazer promise. And so I’m sorry all, you’re stuck with me because I will not break that promise! lol I used to IM Rick between games and ask him for riddles or jokes to tell my special friends (my clients). and he would always have something to share with me. I always felt so comforted to be in his presence. Another reason I stay is because I found a very special friend, my sister Bernie. She is always there for me and I hope she knows I’m always here for her too. gazersssssss rockkkkkkk!!!!! Bernie: 4. When do you play? Days, or hours? Marie: I play whenever I can… when I’m working I don’t get to play much at all and I get Spades withdrawal hehe Bernie: 5. What is your favorite game? Marie: My favorite game is Street Spades because that’s the way I learned to play. Bernie: 6. What is your least favorite game? Marie: My least favorite is Suicide!! But I will play anything. Bernie: 7. What advice would you give to a new member or someone wanting to join Stargazers? Marie: This is the best league I’ve seen in Yahoo! I’ve played in a few and Stargazers definitely is the best! And you win some you lose some! And yes sometimes your p makes mistakes...but I know I do too so play to have fun! Bernie: 8. Do you have a special memory of something that occurred in Stargazers that you want to share with others? Marie: I have a lot of special moments… but the one thing that I will never forget is how Stargazers pulled together to pray when Rick was passing… and to mourn together and be here for one another!
