Stargazers Admin Responsibilities
BOXING - PROCEDURE
Any authorized Admin may box a member. If you have the information (screen shots,
testimonies) sufficient to support your decision to box, you do not need
the review or approval of the entire Admin Team. However, if you are not
sure of your decision, contact the HA or another Admin for advice.
When boxing a member please follow these steps:
- 1. Gather all available information including screen shots, testimonies
from other players, testimony from the TD in charge, etc. Don't take one
member's word over another's word. This places Admin in the middle..
- 2. If the information supports the boxing of a member, use our Misconduct
Guidelines in League Rules to determine the appropriate time in the box.
- 3. In ADMIN MENU, choose EDIT USER and enter the Username, then the Days in the Box and the Reason. Do not make the reason personal. Copy Misconduct text directly from the rules page. Make sure you have no typos and that you put
your Admin Username behind your reason.
- 4. In ADMIN MENU, choose USER RECORDS and enter the Username, then the
option Penalty and the Details of the Boxing. This is a MyLeaguePlus
feature that allows us to track multiple offenses for members including
Warnings, Complaints, Penalties (boxings), Unreported Matches and Other
items worth noting. You cannot reverse or delete what you type here after
hitting enter, so proceed with caution.
- 5. Email the member being boxed and notify them of the boxing. You most
likely have talked to them already so there isn't a need for a lot of
detail here. Just the facts. BCC the Admin Team so everyone is
aware of the boxing and no one is blindsided.
- 6. No Admin should unbox a member early without discussing it with the
Admin who originally boxed the member. Certain members will try to pit one
Admin against another and we should show a united front even if we may not
always agree on everything. If you want to unbox someone early for good
behavior who you yourself boxed that is your decision.
- 7. UNBOXING - To unbox a member, choose EDIT USER in ADMIN MENU. Put 0 (zero) in the Days in the Box and the Reason (they apologized, good behavior, etc)
followed by your Admin Username.
- 8. ADDING TIME - To add time to someone in the box, you must put in a number that replaces the one already there. It does not add to the days. For example,
if you box someone for 3 days and 1 day has past and you have reason to box
them for 3 more days for a total of 6, the new number you would put into
Days in the Box would be 5 (3-1+3). You must take into account time
already served. Contact the HA if you need help with this.
- All Admin are encouraged to address misconduct when it happens and no later than 24 hours after an incident. However, if you are uncertain about boxing someone, box them "Pending Admin Review" and send all of the support documents to the Admin Team for quick review and action.
- Remember to document Warnings and Complaints in the USER RECORDS option as
well. This is a great feature of MyLeaguePlus that helps us identify our
multiple offenders.
AWARDING RATINGS POINTS - PROCEDURE
- The awarding of ratings points is assigned to an Individual Admin. This gives all staff one contact person and avoids duplication of awards. Any member who thinks they did not receive their points should contact the TD in charge of the tourney, not the Admin in charge of awarding points.
- 1. In ADMIN MENU select EDIT USER, type in the Username and select the EDIT USER button.
- 2. In the red section, put the cursor in the SKILL RATING box and replace the existing number with the new skill rating. Current ratings awards are 25 points for each event. Double check the accuracy of the number you input.
- 3. In the red section, put the cursor in the CHANGE REASON box and put a reason for the edit. Acceptable reasons are "Ratings points for 21 Black Jack, Claire's Club (CC) or Cleaning Up with Taz. At the end of the reason, put your Admin Username or some abbreviation of it.
- 4. Select the SAVE CHANGES button.
ACTIVATING NEW MEMBERS - PROCEDURE
- All new members should be encouraged to activate themselves with Admin assistance before an Admin manually activates them. Self-activation verifies a valid email address & IP location. When assistance is required, the following steps are recommended:
- 1. Add the new Yahoo ID to your YM and contact them privately. Avoid lobby conversations because they are difficult and frustrating for some potential new members.
- 2. Obtain their Username (if different than their YM ID) and login to ADMIN MENU - EDIT USER.
- 3. Verify that they are not activated. In the green section, NOT ACTIVATED will appear in red type.
- 4. If you cannot find their Username go to ADMIN MENU - LIST UNACTIVATED and search for a similar Username. If you find nothing in neither place, the application did not process and the person needs to reapply.
- 5. Verify the email on record in USER EDIT for the new member. If the email is incorrect, the Username should be removed and the new member should reapply with a valid Username and email.
- 6. If the email is valid, ask the new member to review their Spam folder for an email with a Subject of "MyLeague.com (Stargazers) Activation Key".
- 7. If all attempts to get the new member to activate their account fail, click the box in the green section next to ACTIVATE. Enter a reason of "Manual activation - Your Admin Username" in the red section next to CHANGE REASON and then click SAVE CHANGES.
CORRECTING INCORRECTLY POSTED TOURNEY RESULTS - PROCEDURE
- When a tourney is closed and the wrong winners have been posted, it is necessary to take several actions to rectify the situation. Even though this activity is listed in the TD menu, it has historically been an Admin responsibility in Stargazers. The actions fall into 2 categories:
- Actions taken directly by Stargazers Admin:
- 1. Login to ADMIN MENU - EDIT USER
- 2. Enter each Username involved in the error and adjust WINS, LOSSES, TOURNEY WINS & LOSSES, STREAK & TOURNEY VICTORIES accordingly.
- 3. Enter a reason of "Manual stats adjustment due to Incorrect Tourney Posting - Your Admin Username" in the red section next to CHANGE REASON and then click SAVE CHANGES.
- 4. Complete the form for MyLeague to correct LadderBux & winner's Usernames.
- Steps to complete request form for MyLeague corrections:
- 1. Login to HTD MENU - TOURNEY SUPPORT
- 2. Select the type of tourney you are correcting (SE, DE, Swiss) and click CONTINUE
- 3. Enter your email address
- 5. Enter the Round # (Swiss Only) & indicate whether the Tourney Winner was Undefeated (DE Only)
- 6. Enter the match as it was reported incorrectly (memberA memberB d. memberC memberD)
- 7. Calculate Bux to be subtracted from the incorrect winners (correct Bux - Bux awarded) taking into consideration Gold 2x, Platinum 4x, Diamond 6x. (memberA -360, memberB -60).
- 8. Calculate Bux to be added to the correct winners (correct Bux - awarded Bux) taking into consideration Gold 2x, Platinum 4x, Diamond 6x. (member C +120, memberD +60).
- 9. Click SEND THIS MAIL & write down the reference number for the submittal. LeaguePlus requests are usually processed within 24 hours.
