10 Shot Tourney
Bank the 8
The rules here are very simple, play all matches as normal
tourney games, on protected, rated, untimed tables. The only exception is the
winning shot. Either the cue ball or the 8 ball MUST to be banked and pocketed
in the correct designated pocket. This must be a clear bank, AFTER the bank
takes place, the banked ball MUST travel at least 2 ball-lengths before either
hitting the object ball (in the case of the cue ball being banked) or being
sunk(this is of course the decision of the td, if they believe it was a clear
bank, their word stands, if they believe it was not a clear bank, then it is a
loss). Anything other than this results in a loss. The TD MUST BE INVITED for
the bank shot. The person which pots the 8ball is responsible for getting the
TD to the table. If the TD isn’t invited, it will result in a DQ.
Full Power
This tourney is played just like a regular tourney, with the
exception of EACH SHOT must be played with full power (to the top of the red
area on the power bar). Each player needs to hold the power on each shot for at
least 2 seconds, so your opponent can see that you are shooting with full
power. If you do not shoot with full power, you can and will be DQ’d from the
tourney.
Gentlemen's 8
The game play for this tourney will be the most familiar for all
players. All shots must be 'called', in the chat box at the bottom of the pool
table. YOU MUST CALL ALL BANK SHOTS, 'KISSES' (where the cue will hit the
desired ball more than once) and COMBOS. However, there is NO BALL IN HAND. If
someone scratches the cue ball, you may ONLY MOVE THE CUE from BEHIND THE FOUL
LINE AND YOU MAY ONLY PLAY A BALL IN FRONT OF THE FOUL LINE. If there is no
ball in front of the foul line, then you must bank the shot to try hit your
ball. If you deliberately scratch, it will be considered a snooker and you
could be disqualified. You may not move it anywhere in front of it. If someone
fouls and hits the wrong ball, you may not move the cue ball. You must PLAY
FROM WHERE THE CUE BALL STOPS. You must make your target ball, or the shot is
considered a miss. Also, if the table is open, you must choose the same suite
as the target ball you picked when you made your shot.
Killer
All games to be played on TRAINING TABLES This is a 3 or 4
player bracket per round Tables are protected and players shoot in the order in
which they joined the table. The player that breaks get 2 shots ONLY if they
miss a ball on break if they make one on break they shoot again. As soon as a
player shoots they stand and the next player sits to shoot. When a player
misses a shot or scratches, they lose 1 life. Each player has 2 lives at the
begining of each rd. As soon as a player loses 2 lives in the trny they are
finished and leave the table, the round is over when only 1 person is remaining.
Last Pocket
Game play is normal tourney conditions. No shots need to be
called, nor banked. The one difference is, the pocket where your last ball went
in, is the same pocket that the 8 ball MUST be pocketed. Failure to do this,
results in a loss, no matter if Yahoo registers it as a win. TD needs too be
present to see the final shots.
Mystery Pocket
This tournament is to be played as a Swiss style and as if it were a
regular tournament game. The difference here is that the 8 must be sunk in the
pocket that the TD specifies IN THE LOBBY AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH ROUND or
else it will be counted as a loss. The TD must be invited to the table before
shooting the 8 ball to bear witness and avoid possible conflicts later.
Point Tourney
Format is 1v1 - bux up to TD 8ball = 5
points Regular balls = 1
You play on a training table each taking turns. You shoot until you miss. There
must be a TD at each game to take score. The person with the most points at the
end of the game wins and advances. If tie by any chance you must play the same
player again and first person to 5 wins. If the person that breaks doesnt make
1 off the break, they get another shot. Any disputes with a TD's decision will
result in automatic DQ.
Pot The Most Balls
In this Type of tourney, all games are played on a TRAINING
table. When playing you:
- Sit.
- Break.
- Shoot again as the break does not count as a
miss.
- Keep shooting untill you miss and then stand
and count how many balls "points" you have.
- Opponent sits and shoots untill they miss.
- Repeat steps 1-5 so that each player has had
two (2) turns.
- Add up the total amount of points for each
player the player with the most points wins.
If you scratch that counts as a miss, you can shoot the 8 ball in at any
time during the game, you can not move the cue ball when it says ball in
hand.

Suicide
Matches are to be played on
protected, UNRATED and untimed tables. As per usual if the eight ball is sunk
on break it is an instant rerack. However the aim of this tourney is to sink
the black first before your opponent. After the break, either you or your
opponent MUST sink a stripe or solid before the 8 ball is potted. You may combo
your own balls into the 8, but you cannot hit the other player's ball first in
the combo. Also: Scratching on the 8 ball results in you losing the round, You
CANNOT scratch and pot 8 ball same time. Just remember the aim of this game is
to LOSE. Any problems contact the hosting TD.
Timed Tourney
Each match in this tourney, must be
played on a protected, rated and timed table. Games are played as normal
otherwise, following all the league rules, with the exception of a couple of
things. If your opponent gets booted, or disconnected, play STOPS after you
miss your shot and the hosting TD NEEDS to be called to the table immediately.
Play resumes when your opponenet returns and they have however long is left on
the timer, whether it's the full 2 minutes or less. They ARE NOT allowed ball
in hand, unless there was a foul or scratch, and the TD MUST be notified of
that.
2v2 Team Tourney
This tourney is played with two
people per 'team' or side. All four members are at the same table, which is to
be UNRATED, untimed and PROTECTED. The game play for a 2v2: One player of each
team takes a seat. When one player misses the pocket (doesn't sink the ball)
and the turn switches to the opposing team, that person stands up and lets
their partner take the next shot. Each take turns until they either win or
their opposing team wins. If a team member misses their turn or their partner
takes their shot for them, they are disqualified. This is a TEAM EFFORT, not
solo. TIMERS: If one team member gets booted or would normally require a timer
in a 1v1, then game play stops unless it is still the opponents shot. Game play
resumes only when the team member comes back or is responsive. Even if one
'half' of the team remains, the timer still stays on. If the timer runs out,
then that team is disqualified. As per regular tourneys, no snookering, or
deliberate safeties. Unlike regular tourneys, team members may discuss in the
chat box (at the table) their next plan of attack or 'shot'.
Around the Table
2 players per table. This game is to
be played on TRAINING TABLES. Top bracket breaks. Break does not count as a
shot. Once the break is done, that player starts out by shooting ANY ball into
the top right corner (the pocket at the top of table next to the big english
ball). The order for each shot after is as follows: top middle, top left,
bottom left, bottom middle and bottom right. If you miss or scratch*, your turn
is over and the next time you sit, you start with the pocket you left off at.
Next player then sits and shoots WITHOUT resetting the table, starting with the
top right pocket and following the same order. If you slop a ball into another
pocket and miss your target pocket, your turn is over. If you INTENTIONALLY
shoot a ball into the wrong pocket, you will be disqualified. The first player
to make it around the table will be declared the winner. (*Note - If you
scratch on the FINAL pocket - bottom right - your turn is over and you must
stand, on your next attempt you must pot a ball in that pocket to win, without
scratching.)
Spots and Stripes
2 Players per Table. This game is to
be played on a training table. Top bracket breaks. Break does not count as a
shot. The object of the game is to sink solids and stripes alternating. You may
start with either, but once one type is sunk, the shots following must
alternate suits. (i.e. - If a stripe is sunk first, the next ball must be a
solid, then stripe again.) If you miss or scratch, you stand and your opponent
sits and continues WITH the type left off. If you SLOP the wrong type in, that
ball must be pulled out of the rack and spotted where the cueball sits at the
beginning of the game. If you pot the 8 ball EARLY, you lose. The person who
sinks the 8 ball - without scratching - once the table is cleared, will be
declared the winner.

4 Play
This game is to be played on
protected, untimed and rated tables. BEFORE the start of the game, you must
call TWO Pockets that are Off Limits to your opponent and they must call TWO
Pockets that are Off Limits to you as well. Game play is normal with the
exception that you MAY NOT sink a ball into a pocket that is off limits to you.
If you ACCIDENTALLY slop a ball into an off limit pocket, you must tap and your
opponent gets ball in hand. If you INTENTIONALLY shoot a ball into an off limit
pocket, you can and will be Disqualified. (*Note - Balls slopped in on the
break DO NOT count.)
Speedball
- All games played on 1 training table. You
will be invited by the TD.
- Each player starting at the top bracket of
round 1 will take their turn shooting in as many balls as possible in the
60 seconds, regardless of misses or scratches.
- Each player will sit, position the cue ball
where they want it for their break and then pull back and HOLD the stick
until the TD calls "GO". Time starts when the CUEBALL is
struck.
- The ONLY time other than the break that the
cue ball may be moved is in the event of a SCRATCH.
- Any and all balls that fall after the TD
calls 'STOP' will not be counted.
Four Corners
All games are to be played on RATED,
untimed and PROTECTED tables. Games are played as normal WITH the exception
that you CANNOT use either of the MIDDLE pockets. ALL shots (with the exception
of the break) MUST be potted into one of the four corner pockets. If you slop a
ball into a middle pocket and DO NOT make a ball into a corner pocket, this is
a foul. You MUST tap the ball and give your opponent Ball in Hand. If you slop
a ball into the middle pocket AND pot one of your balls into a corner pocket,
this is legal and you may continue shooting. If you PURPOSELY sink a ball into
the INCORRECT pocket, you WILL be Disqualified.
Scratchless Tourney
- All games are played on UNRATED PROTECTED
tables.
- Game is played as usual however if a player
scratches he/she automatically loses.
- A scratch on break is a RERACK.
- If the game is completed without either
player scratching then the player who won the game by regular play wins
the match.
Stuff Your Opponent
All games are played on PROTECTED
untimed and RATED tables. Prior to break you must call the pocket (on the table
chat) that the 8 ball is to be sunk in. That pocket remains that target pocket
for the object 8 ball until the conclusion of the game. Similarly your oppenent
will call the pocket which YOU must pot the 8 ball in and that remains your
target pocket until the conclusion of the game.

One Pocket
Played on Training Tables.
- First Listed Invites and Plays First.
- First Player picks a pocket. All balls must
go into that pocket.
- Another ball made at the same time in a
different pocket counts for total as long as a ball went into the
selected pocket.
- Shoot till you miss then stand. Break does
not count.
- Player 2 resets the table picks their own
pocket and shoots til miss.
- If you scratch your turn is over. Break does
not count.
Two Rounds for Each Player. Whoever pots the most balls in this tourney will be
declared the winner and advance. A scratch on break is a rerack.
Black Jack
- All games are played on PROTECTED training
tables. First player breaks and then stands. Second player shoots and
then stands. Continuing like that until end of the game.
- You may shoot any ball. They all have point
values. The object of the game is to reach a score of 21 without going
over. Any ball or balls potted in a turn will be added to your score.
First player to reach 21, or whose opponent goes over 21, wins.
- Point totals for the balls are as follows:
ALL STRIPES are 3 pts. SOLIDS are as follows: Yellow = 1, Blue = 2, Red =
3, Purple = 4, Orange = 5, Green = 6, Pink = 7, Black = 8. If you are
close to 21 and the pt balls you need are not on the table, you may bank
ANY object (not cue) ball for 1 pt. If you should miss or make the bank
and pocket another ball, the second ball value will still count towards
your score.
- If you scratch, the ball may be placed
anywhere BEHIND the head string (yellow) line. If you scratch on break,
your turn is over. Opponent has ball in hand anywhere behind the line. If
you sink a ball and scratch, that ball counts.
High / Low
- All games are played on RATED, PROTECTED
tables.
- Solids or (low balls) must be pocketed in
bottom three pockets.
- Stripes (high balls) to be potted in top
three pockets.
- All balls MUST be potted into their correct
pockets AFTER the break, regardless of any balls being dropped on the
break. (Balls potted on break may go into any pocket.)
- The 8 ball is to be potted in any of the 3
pockets you have been shooting throughout the game. (ie: if you were
solids, pot the 8 ball in one of the bottom 3 pockets).
- If you ACCIDENTALLY pocket your ball in wrong
pocket you must tap cue on next shot to give opponent ball in hand (BIH)
and they may then move the cue ball for their shot. If you PURPOSELY
pocket your ball in wrong pocket, you will be Disqualified. *(Note - if
you hit one of your object balls into the correct pocket, and also pocket
one that is not in the right pockets, it still is a good shot. You
continue shooting)
Drop Your Ball
This game is played on a protected,
untimed, UNRATED table. Before the break, each player picks 1 ball of a
different suit for their opponent. (1 Player is assigned a stripe of ANY
colour; the other player assigned a solid of ANY colour.) This becomes that
player's object ball. After the break, either you or your opponent MUST sink a
stripe or solid before your object ball is potted. The player that is 1st to
pot their object ball will be declared the winner. If you slop your opponent's
object ball in, this is considered a loss. If you scratch, your opponent may
use Ball In Hand BEHIND the head string line only. If you foul (hitting your
opponent's ball or the 8) your opponent MAY NOT use Ball in Hand. You may combo
your own balls into your object ball, but you cannot hit the other player's
ball first in the combo. (*Note - If you scratch while potting your object ball
this is considered a loss. Sinking the 8 ball early results in a loss.)
Slam the 8
This game is played on a protected,
untimed, RATED table. Game play is the same as regular 8 ball with the
exception of potting the 8. You MUST use Full Power (to the top of the red area
on the power bar) and NO English. The player shooting at the 8 needs to hold
the power on that shot for at least 3 seconds, so your opponent can see that
you are shooting with full power. The TD MUST BE INVITED for the 8 ball shot.
The person which pots the 8ball is responsible for getting the TD to the table.
If the TD isn't invited, it will result in a DQ.

High / Low PTMB
2 Players per Table. In this Type of
tourney, all games are played on a TRAINING table. Upper bracket sits first.
When playing you:
- Sit
- Break
- Shoot again as the break does not count as a
miss
- Stripes MUST be potted into the TOP 3 pockets
and Solids into the BOTTOM 3 pockets.
- Keep shooting until you miss or scratch, then
stand and count how many "points" you have. If you
intentionally shoot a ball into the wrong pocket, that ball doesn't count
and your turn is over. If you miss your intended pocket and slop a ball
into the wrong pocket, your turn is over.
- Opponent sits and shoots until they miss.
- Repeat steps 1-6 so that each player has had
two (2) turns.
- Add up the total amount of points for each
player the player with the most points wins.
If you
scratch that counts as a miss, you can shoot the 8 ball in ANY POCKET at any
time during the game, you can not move the cue ball when it says ball in hand.

the TD will invite all players.
- TD will sit and break.
- Players take turns shooting once, starting
with the top player in the standings bracket.
- If you miss and / or scratch, you get booted
from the table and are out of the tournament.
- If a player scratches, next player may use
Ball in Hand BEHIND the head string line.
- Last player at the table will be declared the
tournament winner.

Head On
This game is to be played on a
TRAINING table. A scratch on break is a RERACK. Break does not count as a shot.
After each shot, the cue ball MUST be spotted ON the head string line. One
player is solids, the other is stripes. This will be determined by the 1st ball
potted. Each shot must be taken shooting forwards from the head string line.
You may use any combination to pot your suit (solid or stripe). You must BANK
the cueball off the right (far) rail to attempt to sink balls that are ON or
BEHIND the headstring line. You may NOT shoot backwards of the headstring line
or bank using the side rails. The 1st player to successfully pot all their
balls and then the 8 ball will be declared the winner. (*Note - Sinking the 8
early or scratching on the 8 ball is considered a loss.)

Rainbow Tourney
All tables are protected TRAINING
tables. Top bracket will sit and break. Break does not count as a shot. The
object is to hit every ball in the order of the rainbow… pink, red, orange,
yellow, green, blue, purple then black. (One person will be solids, the other
stripes). You may use ANY combination of balls to sink your target ball. Any
balls potted out of order must be placed back on table on cue ball mark (or as
close to as possible). If you miss your turn is over. If you scratch, your turn
is over and your opponent receives ball in hand. First player to correctly sink
all their balls plus the 8 will be declared the winner. If you do not shoot for
your next target ball in an attempt to pot it, this will be considered a
snooker and you will be disqualified. (*Note - Sinking the 8 early or
scratching on the 8 ball is a loss.)
Triple Fate
This game is to be played on untimed,
RATED and protected tables. Game play is normal with the EXCEPTION of the shot
on the 8 ball. When shooting the 8ball, your OPPONENT gets to call how the 8
must be sunk. They will choose Banking, Full Power or Calling Your Pocket. If a
Bank or Full Power is called by the opponent, the player shooting gets to
choose which pocket to pot the 8 in. When calling the pocket, you MAY NOT
choose a pocket that is blocked by balls as this would be considered a snooker.
If there is a scratch while on the 8, the player MUST spot the cue ball
anywhere on the table BEFORE the type of shot is called. You MAY NOT call the
same type of shot twice in a row, you must choose one of the other choices.
(I.E - You may not call Bank twice in a row) If a player misses 3 times on the
8, you may choose ANY of the 3 shots again (rotation style). If 8 is pocketed
other then how specified by opponent, it will be considered a loss.

Pot the Lot
- The table is set up as normal. The winner of
Stairway to heaven is the only player who can attempt this. There is only
1 try per tournament.
- Off the break, a ball does not have to be
pocketed, but if the white ball sinks, that is GAME OVER.
- After the break, there has to be at least a
ball sunk every shot until the table has been cleared. Balls do not have
to be sunk in any specific order at all. eg. Black can be sunk at any
time throughout this game. THERE IS NO BALL IN HAND IN THIS GAME.
- At any point in the game the white ball sinks
or leaves the table or a ball does not sink, that is GAME OVER.
- Pot the lot Jackpots at eg. 25 bux per time
it is attempted. Eg: first attempt is worth 25 bux and if not won, goes
up 25 bux per tournament until won.
- A TD must be present at all times when Pot
the Lot is being played. The player is not allowed to play on if the TD
isn't present. This game is played on a training table. (Anyone watching
the game keep their keyboard silent and no typing in the chat box or be
booted from the table as it can become very distracting to a player). If
a yahoo does occur and the TD has agreed that yahoo caused the mess up,
the player will receive a rerack and has the chance ot try again.
- There are no time limits on this game and no
set ball sequence to which balls must be sunk and balls do not have to be
nominated and either do the pockets for any ball sunk. THE GAME ENDS
WHEN, EITHER THE WHITE BALL IS SUNK OR A SHOT HAS BEEN MISSED (RESULTS IN
A LOSS) OR WHEN ALL BALLS HAVE BEEN SUNK SUCCESSFULLY.

Call All Shots
This will be the most difficult of
all tourneys, because a staff member NEEDS to be present at each table. (3 TD's
to be present at the minimum.) All matches will be played on protected, rated,
untimed tables. EACH SHOT MUST BE DESIGNATED or called in text in the chat box
where it can be witnessed. If you 'slop' the shot and it goes in another
pocket, this will be determined to be a foul. If this happens, you must tap the
ball to give your opponent ball in hand. If you 'slop' another ball that wasn't
designated, this is considered a foul, but will not result in ball in hand,
just a change of possession. If you make the designated shot and pocket another
ball in the same shot, play continues as normal. If you miss the shot, and do
not 'slop' another shot, play continues with a change of possession. You also
MUST 'call' if you intend on doing a 'combo' (where you hit one of your balls
to hit another one or few balls, to sink the desired ball). Example: purple
stripe on the green stripe, top left pocket. You do NOT need to call a rail
shot. Before taking any shot you must tell the supervising TD the shot you
intend to take and then wait for them to say ok, or the equivalent.
Fast n Furious
- All games are played ON THE SAME TRAINING
TABLE.
- Each player starting at the top bracket of
round 1 will sit down and break when the TD is ready.
- The TD will start the timer and you have as
much time as needed to clear table.
- If you scratch, you need to pull the cueball
out of the rack and place it anywhere on the table and start playing
again. A 5-second penalty will be added to your time for each scratch,
even off break.
- After you have cleared the table, TD will
give you your time.
- The next opponent will then sit; press reset
and do the same thing.
- If you are at the table to play or watch you
MAY NOT talk during the game. This is distracting to the players and is
not necessary. If you continue to talk during the game, the TD has the
right to boot you from the table until it is your turn to play. The TD
may also make the table private in the event of other problems.
- Lowest time for that bracket to clear table
advances to the next round.
Follow the Leader
This game is to be played on TRAINING
Tables. Top bracket sits first and breaks. Break doesn't count. Player 1 shoots
again and pots any ball EXCEPT the 8. If player 1 pots a ball this becomes
their suite for the entire game (i.e. - Player 1 pots a Stripe and shoots at
Stripes the rest of the game.) After the 1st ball is sunk, that player will
stand, and their opponent will sit and attempt to pot a ball of their suite
into the SAME pocket as the 1st player. If you make one of your balls into the
"leader's" pocket, you become the leader and shoot again, choosing
any pocket you wish, and your opponent must then try to pot one in the pocket
you chose. If you miss, scratch or slop a ball into a pocket other than the
"leader's" pocket, your turn is over and you must stand. ALL Slopped
Balls must be spotted back on the table where the cue ball is spotted at the
start of the game. Game play continues this way until you come to the 8. If you
are the leader and it is your shot, you may pot the 8 into any pocket you choose.
If you are following the leader and you are on the 8, you MUST sink it into the
"leader's" pocket. The first player to sink the 8 correctly wins the
match and advances.
What's the Score?
This game is to be played on a
TRAINING Table. Upper bracket sits first. Before starting the game, each player
picks ANY ball (other than the 8) to be their 5 point ball.
Player 1 sits, breaks and takes another shot. Any balls potted on the break do
not count towards your score. If a normal ball is potted on the second shot, it
is worth 1 point. If the ball that You Called at the start of the game or the 8
ball is potted, it is worth 5 points and is brought out of the rack and spotted
on the head string line where the cue ball originally sits at the start of the
game. Players alternate taking 1 shot, either potting a 1 point or 5 point
ball. If you pot your opponent's 5 point ball, you automatically lose. Each
time the 8 ball or a 5 point ball is potted, it is spotted back on the table,
until there is only 1 normal (1 point) ball left. When there is 1 normal ball
left, the player whose turn it is must pot the normal ball. After there are no
more 1 point balls left on the table, the 5 point balls are potted and not
brought back out on the table, the 8 ball being the last ball to be potted. The
player with the highest score after the 8 ball is potted for the final time is
the winner.
(*Note - If you pot a ball and scratch, the points still count and your turn is
over. If you scratch your opponent may use Ball In Hand BEHIND the head string
line only.)

10 Shot Tourney
2 players per table. All games to be
played on protected training tables, but in a Best of 3 format. (Each sit
counts as 1 match in the best of 3.)
- Top person in bracket sits first.
- The player sits and gets ten shots, break
counts as first shot. Scratch on break is a RERACK. You get 10 shots
regardless of if you scratch or miss.
- If you scratch you get Ball in Hand behind
the head string line. If you miss, you shoot from where the ball lies.
The total number of balls made during these ten shots is your score.
- Once you complete your 10 shots, count up
your score, and then stand and your opponent sits and takes their 10
shots.
*(Note: It is easiest if your opponent counts out the shots taken as you shoot.
e.g.: You shoot, they type 1, you shoot again they type out 2, to help keeps
things clear.)
**(Best of 3 format example: Player 1 wins 1st sit 10-8. Player 2 wins 2nd sit
8-6. 3rd match (sit) to be played as tie breaker. If either player wins 1st two
sits, there is no need for the tie breaker.)
