NEVEREST

TOURNAMENT RULES

LEAGUE RULES BELOW APPLY TO ALL TOURNAMENTS

    ALONE ON 8 OR 9:
Unless the specific game rules state otherwise, calling alone on 8 or 9 is strongly discouraged and considered poor sportsmanship in Neverest.
    FINALS:
In the finals of a tourney, if a mistake is made by either finalist it is automatic disqualification and the opponent will be awarded the tourney win. No exceptions! If a sub makes a mistake in the finals, the Tournament Director will ask the sub to leave the game and another sub will finish.
    BEING IN ONE TOURNAMENT:
When pairings for round one are made, if any player is still active in a different, ongoing game, and if that player is registered and checked into THIS tourney, then the player will be disqualified from this tourney without warning or discussion.
**The only exception to this rule is if the Tournament Director of the ongoing tournament and the Tournament Director of the next tournament both agree and there are no other subs available.**
TWO OUT OF THREE AIN'T BAD:
  • If a game is played as
  • ***Two Out Of Three Aint Bad***
  • Teams play to win best two out of three games.
  • If team wins 1st 2 games the 3rd game does not need to be played.
  • Games played at same table , colors of seats switched each game.
  • Winner of two games advances in round.
    PARTNER REQUIREMENTS:
In 1vs1 and 2vs2 random tournaments there is no need to find a partner, you will be assigned 1 when the tournament starts. In 2vs2 non random partners you will need a partner.
    PRIVATE MESSAGING:
NO private messages of any kind will be allowed once a game has started. Any private message will result in an instant DISQUALIFICATION from this tourney! This includes but is not limited to Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, AOL AIM, etc.
    TABLE SETTINGS:
Table settings for this tournament are found above under game specific rules, the Tournament Director will also announce table settings in the lobby. When pairings are listed in the lobby, the current time will be posted. If you are MIA, the time that was posted will be used as your timer.

    FREEZES & MISSING IN ACTIONS:
There will be a 5 minute maximum wait on FROZEN/MIA players (3 minutes on games designated as quickie games). The TOTAL combined time for FROZEN/MIA players is set for 5 minutes (3 minutes on games designated as quickie games). If someone at the table freezes or gets booted, the Tournament Director must be invited in order to keep time. Please ensure you reboot before the tourney in order to minimize the chance of having computer problems. If you are constantly booted or frozen the Tournament Director may disqualify you. In 2vs2 team tournaments the 5 minutes applies to the team.
    SUBS:
Subs will be allowed in 1v1 tournaments. In any 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 team tournaments subs are not allowed.
    STAYING PUT:
While playing in this tournament, you may only be at ONE table.
    ERRORS:
If an error is made the Tournament Director must be called to the table before any action is taken, in tournaments such as P AIN'T PASSING, the Tournament Director may tell the booer's partner to pick up the upcard (not alone) to avoid skipping hands. If not, the player to the left of the booer will choose to skip the deal one player or back to the original dealer. Do not skip hand until Tournament Director has made note of error. If the same player makes a second mistake, the Tournament Director must be called to the table, and the player will be automatically DISQUALIFIED. The game must then continue with either the disqualified player helping his partner to win, or with a sub, at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Note: This applies to Single Elimination, Double Elimination and Swiss Tourneys. In 2v2 tournaments if the team makes 2 errors this will result in the team being disqualified.
    HANDLING PROBLEMS:
The Tournament Director has final say over any and all problems that may arise while players are participating in this tourney.
    FORCE FORFEITS:
If any player does a Force Forfeit, the Tournament Director is to be invited to the table. Play will continue with a new game. The subsequent game will start from the posted score. When one team reaches a total of 10, based on the original score plus the score from the subsequent game, the subsequent game will then be cancelled. ANY Force Forfeit will result in an automatic disqualification and boxing for the offender.
    TABLE TALK:
If there is ANY form of table talk before trump is called, it will be an automatic DISQUALIFICATION. After trump is called, it is at the Tournament Director's sole discretion as to whether or not one or more players talking should be disqualified.
