The Warriors Handbook

Introduction

Warriors started in November 2003 with a few of us from other leagues. The vision was to have a league for the staff and members and no dictators. This meant that that there would be no rules and schedules for staff. This worked really well while we were young and still growing but now we are number one league in pogo we need to have some rules so that everyone is on the same page. Most of the handbook is pure common sense and drawn from the experience of our most experienced staff.

 League Management

Admin Staff ( All equal)

Asst Admin

HTD's & Trainers (All equal)

TD's

Admin Staff - They are the highest ranking staff members, 'Admins' are representatives of the league and its policies. They are responsible for making judgements and playing any position on the team. An Admin can and will speak up at any time where it concerns the league, they are the 'BUCK STOP HERE' people. If an Admin is present in the lobby for any situation they can take charge of any situation since it is given that they are more qualified to deal with whatever it may be. Most times an admin will sit back and let the TD handle it but its up to their judgement. Behind the scenes the 'Admins' are the ones that HTD's and TD's can go to with their problems, concerns and ideas. Each of our Admins has areas they are an expert in but are qualified to deal with anything and if one cant then as a team the Admin will deal with it together. Warriors is unique in a way because the Admins here work as a team and most decisions are agreed upon by all.

HTD's & Trainers - HTD's should be ready to assist at any time. If a HTD is present in the lobby when a TD is hosting they should be ready to assist if they are ASKED to by the TD. They should be able to take over a tourney if a TD is a no show or if a TD goes MIA. Any help that is needed to the TD should always be done on i/m and not in the lobby and never criticise your fellow staff you may offer advise or let trainers or admin know that there is a problem with how something is done in a tourney. At the end of the day everyone gives their time freely and they do not want to be continually criticised get to the route of the problem and assist or pass on to a more qualified person. You should be aware of the HTD guide from cases which can be downloaded from your HTD menu. All HTD's should be able to do paper, de, swiss tourneys and to know and understand all the gimmicks so as if needed can take over in any situation. Most of important of all is to have fun make it fun for members and staff and not to get so negative about things if there is a problem then go talk to Admin.

TD's - To host when able to when able to. To make sure you turn up to host and make the tourney as fun as possible.

In general everyone has the same responsibilities in the league when it comes to hosting that is to be

New TD's have to set Reg Std for their 1st 10 tourneys and please it is imperative that they get their 1st 10 tourneys out the way so they can start charging fees so if a new TD needs to set and a slot is filled and they ask please can we work with them and help them out by moving our slots. No new TD can do teams or a special till they got their 10 in.

Tourney Fees - we leave this up to your discretion but the favourite fee is 50 bux.

Gimmick Tourneys - besides Reg Std there are other variations of the euchre game. These are called Gimmicks and the rules for these can be found at www.warriorsofeuchre.com under Special Links. You can start hosting Gimmicks after you have completed your 10th tourney. Please make sure you have the correct rules on your Tourney page and the name of the gimmick in the location, also make sure you have a macro with the rules on. There is a TD Assistant which is exclusive to Warriors although you are beginning to see other leagues copy us so we must be good :). The login for it is warrior and the password is warriorsofeuchre and can be located again on our main page under Staff Links.

As a TD you will need a couple of tools first is a macro program and second is Printkey both can be found at www.tht1.com under downloads. You will be trained in the use of them. If there are any problems in the lobby then please use your Printkey and screen shot the problems so that we have back up and e-mail to admin at admins@warriorsofeuchre.com

We have a few Don'ts please DO NOT set a D/E as 1 v 1 in a league our size they take far to long. Please DO NOT set a swiss and a d/e back to back.

Please add all admin to your msn and as many hosts as you can so that we can keep in contact. On the main page under Special Links is a list of staff's i/m's

On main page is also a Schedule of what times and what type of tourneys we do under Staff Links.

Warriors has a very loose policy regarding hosting in other leagues. The 'norm' is that most leagues will NOT let you host in another league of the same game. We at Warriors do let you BUT we do ask that you have the courtesy to let admin know and that you do not use anything of Warriors that has been made for the sole use of Warriors in that league. If this is abused then admin will reserve the right to relook at the policy. We also would hope you would respect warriors by not talking in Lobby about other leagues you host in. Any soliciting of members will be viewed very seriously. we have worked hard as a team to build Warriors and do not see why other leagues should grow off the back of all your hard work.
