The first thing for getting the Short Keys ready is to set the prefix key... that's the 7th icon from the left... a pic of an electric cord plug. When that window opens... select USE PREFIX KEY... type the + sign into the box below it. Using a KEY that requires the SHIFT key to be depressed as your PREFIX key, will prevent triggering the rules when you do NOT want them. You can change this later, after you are used to how it works. Click OK. You use the same prefix key for all the rules so you only need to do this once.
The next thing to do is click on the 1st icon... it looks a page with a plus sign... a new window will open... select the letter you want the first rule to be on... in the box labeled ORIGINAL SHORTKEY type R1 for example... then insert the rule/text you want on that key .... then click UPDATE.
Continue selecting a key and pasting the appropriate rule or text into the large box until you have them all set. I used a key that made sense to me... R1, R2, R3, R4... J1 for lobby jump ad, etc... Make a list and keep it handy of what key each rule is on.
The triggering of a rule or text is SHIFT and PREFIX then RULE KEY(S) .... hold down the SHIFT KEY... hit the + sign... then hit the letter(s) and/or number(s) for the rule you want to run. Then hit ENTER and it will send to the lobby chat. It takes just a bit of practice to get the hang of running the rules... practice on a blank document file for a few minutes... this will show you if you have them set the way you want.
The free version of Short Keys will hold 35 rules.
