BROY LEAGUE RULES:

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

First of all, to join the BROY, you must be from a participating league. Please check with your Head Admin before signing up to make sure your league participates.

In order for your league to be eligible to participate in BROY, it must meet the following requirements:

Your league must be established for at least 1 month.

Your league must be established in a lounge either by itself or in a share agreement. As a common courtesy if you have a share agreement with another league make them aware that BROY will be hosted in the lobby on such and such a date. Nobody likes suprises.

Your league must also have AT LEAST 6 active and experienced TD's on staff. This is to ensure that should your league win the battle, you will have enough TD's to host the next monthly event. The BROY admin staff will take care of adjusting the tourney stats, but it is necessary to have TD's to watch the actual game tables.

Active TD's means a td who has had at least 10 or more completed tourneys and hosted one week prior to BROY.

The TD assigned to host a game table will conduct the match as if it were his/her own tourney and make sure that all rules are followed and make any decisions accordingly. The BROY admin staff reserves the right to overrule any decision made by the hosting TD should they deem it necessary.

PROPER SIGN UP

BROY monthly tournaments are played in a 2 vs 2 format......i.e. your league will send a TEAM of 2 players to participate in each tourney. The ONLY acceptable team names are to be in the following format:

Example: Team members from "anyleague" participating in Tourney #1 would name their team "anyleague"_team1. Team members from "anyleague" participating in Tourney #2 would name their team "anyleague"_team2.

Teams participating in the Battle of the Sexes should name their teams in the following manner. Ladies teams should be made as follows: "anyleague"_ladies. Men's teams should be made as follows: "anyleague"_men. Failure to sign up in the proper format could result in your being removed from the tourney.

We are a Case's league and all Case's rules apply. Only you should be altering you league name and registering for tourneys. If it is found you have gone into someone else's account, your league will be disqualified from that month's tourneys.

TOURNEY REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Deadline for registration for BROY tournies is 8:30 pm the night of the tourney!!

Failure to have your team completely registered (i.e. only one player signed in) by the deadline, will result in your team being removed from the tourney.

TABLES

All game tables for the regular BROY and the BOS will be made by the hosting TD and are to be RATED,STD, and protected. All game tables for the Reverse BROY will be made by the hosting TD and are to be UNRATED, STD, and protected. Tables should be open for the public to allow anyone to watch. Please pay attention to the pairing announcements and wait for your invitation to the table.

Should there be circumstances warranting it, the hosting TD may make the decision to declare the table private so as to ensure fair and uninterrupted gameplay.

In the event there is an issue at a table, the BROY Admin in charge must be invited to the table.

TD'ING AND PLAYING

No Broy Admin, HTD, or Hosting TD themselves will be permitted to play in the very BROY Tourney they are involved with!

LONERS

Calling alone on 8 is acceptable in BROY as some feel including your partner would detriment your teams chances at taking all five tricks. However, calling on 9 is unsportsmanlike conduct and is unacceptable. If a team calls alone on 9 the hand shall be skipped back to the original dealer with a warning to be issued. If at anytime for the remainder of the BROY tournament that teams calls alone on 9 again that team will be disqualified from continuing in the tournament.

BEHAVIOR

Abusive behavior and unsportsmanlike conduct will ABSOLUTELY NOT be tolerated!! This is a very simple concept: if you have nothing nice to say or feel compelled to act childishly, then DON'T PLAY!!!!

Spamming by non-hosting leagues is NOT permitted during BROY events.

Only the Td's hosting are allowed to use caps.

It is strongly suggested that if the hosting league continues to run tourneys while hosting BROY that they host from a table. The Hosting League has the right to spam for TOURNIES ONLY should their league have scheduled a regular tourney at the same time as the BROY event.

All other leagues are permitted to cheer for players participating in the BROY, but not to spam or advertise their own league.

Indirect swearing is permitted....i.e. Player 1 misclicks and orders trump when he/she didn't mean to and immediately says, "Oh shit!" We've all been there, done that and understand where they are coming from.

However, FOUL and ABUSIVE language will NOT be tolerated!!!! There will be no badgering of any player or visitor at a table.

ALL BROY members are permitted to watch any game. There will be no booting of a BROY member from any game table. Non-BROY members may be booted from a table at the discretion of the hosting TD. HOWEVER, if a visitor at a table is causing a distraction, the players have the right to request of the TD or any BROY admin that the table be cleared so that they may continue the match without further distractions.

If you have a problem with another member, DO NOT BRING IT HERE!!!! Any player creating unnecessary drama at a BROY event will not only find themselves being penalized, but their league as well!!! You are participating as a representative of your league, therefore any penalties issued will extend to your entire league.

If a player kibitz's during a game and they are a member of the league playing , they will be asked to leave the table. The game will continue after they have left. They will not be allowed at the team tables for the rest of the tournament. If they do not abide by these rules, their league has the possibility of being dq'd.

Any problems should be directly taken to BROY Admin. Players should contact their league representative which in turn would contact a BROY Admin. Do not discuss problems in the lobby. Should problems be discussed in the lobby a warning will be issued, if talk continues that league will be suspended from BROY for 2 months.

SUBBING

This is a league vs league competition. If at anytime one of your team members gets booted or goes MIA for any reason, another member from your league may sit in as a substitute. Once a substitute takes a seat and commences game play, they will continue for the remainder of the tournament as the player for that team. Having at least 2 subs on stand by is strongly suggested.

It is the leagues responsibility to have subs on hand and in the room ready to step in as needed. Leagues should have subs ready at the individual game tables to step in at any given moment.

ALL SUBS MUST BE REGISTERED MEMBERS OF BROY. If there is a need to check on the status of a member of BROY this must be done within allotted time of 5 minutes.

TIMERS

Players should watch lobby for pairings and know when and who will be inviting them to the table. All players are to make sure their computer is in good working order BEFORE the tourney starts.

A 5 minute timer will apply to bootings, freeze ups and things of this nature. As soon as it has been determined by the TD that a player is froze, booted, or what have you, the TD will commence the timer.

If at all possible, if you are booted or unable to get back to the game table in a timely fashion, please contact your Head Admin or Admin Rep to make arrangements for a substitute. As previously stated, once a substitute commences game play, they will continue playing for the remainder of the event.

If a player cannot return to the game table, a substitute must be in place prior to the end of the 5 minute timer, or the team will forfeit the match. At no time do we hit the CANCEL or FORFEIT buttons prior to the end of the allowed 5 minutes. Use the WAIT button. Only the hosting TD will give you the go ahead to CANCEL a match....... we do not force a forfeit in BROY matches.

GLITCH RULE

There is no set glitch rule for BROY. We have all faced a Yahoo! glitch and to date, it has not been the end of the world. Please be fair and sportsmanlike when attempting to resolve a match where a glitch has occurred. The BROY Admin will have the final say in how to proceed.

CHEATING

Cheating of any kind will NOT be tolerated in BROY events!!! This includes the use of any type of program which aids you in card counting and things of this nature. We do have ways of determing if programs of this nature are being used.

While it may not always be possible to determine 100% if cheating is going on, please be assured that even the APPEARANCE of cheating will be thoroughly investigated by the BROY staff and penalties doled out if we deem necessary.

COACHING

Coaching of players by visitors at a table is strictly forbidden.

Conversation and the cheering of players is permitted and encouraged. We are all here to have fun as well as play a mean game of euchre.

The BROY Admin will determine whether or not coaching is going on.

WINNING THE BROY

The winning league of the BROY event will host the following month's battle and provide a minimum of 6 TD's to help with watching tables.

Monthly winners will be listed on the main page of BROY and will jump in rank to 1st and 2nd. If a sub plays more than half the tourney they will jump rank to 3rd. If the sub plays the entire tourney they should be listed 2nd and the original player won’t jump in rank.

A trophy will be given to the winning league each month for them to place on their main page if they choose.

FORUM

The BROY forum is to be used for pertinent questions and as a means to issue congratulations. If you choose to use the forum for thrashing, bashing, or the like, your post will be promptly removed and you will not be permitted to participate in a BROY event again!!

OTHER PENALTIES

All other penalites will be made on a case-by-case basis by the hosting TD and/or the BROY staff. The Head Admin of BROY reserves the right to override any decisions made.

EPILOGUE

This is a once a month event that a lot of people like to participate in. We encourage a healthy spirit of rivalry and competition. If you have never won the BROY, always remember there is next month!

Taking defeat can be hard at times, but knowing you did your best and can say, "Wow! That was one helluva game!" makes you a winner. .
