STAND BY ME
In's out's

Here are a few guidelines and rules that are here to help make the league fun for us all.
We would strongly suggest that you bookmark the league page for easy access whenever you need it.
Is also helpful to take the time to explore whats on the page and get to know your way around.

MULTIPLE ID's

Each player is only allowed to have ONE ID registered with the league
This ID MUST EXACTLY MATCH your Yahoo ID.
If you are found to have more than one ID registered in this league
the consequences will be no less than the extra ID being booted from the league.
The maximum penalty would be that ALL of your ID's would be booted.
Each case will be reviewed and dealt with on its own merits.

SAME HOUSEHOLD PLAYERS

We do allow people living in the same household to play in the league and also to play each other.
Also, if there is any suspicious behavior detected it will be examined and dealt with as needed.
Any one playing in the same household
must be play on their own(different) computers to be able to play in tournaments or league games.

PLAYING GAMES

Lets start with the very beginning. How do you play games?
Ask for a game, usually a series of 2 games.
One player plays while their opponent watches.
(To watch double click on the opponents name to the right,
and press the watch button.)
After agreeing what kind of game to play, your off and playing,
players announce their scores in chat
after a player has posted their score
the opponent acknowledges the score (gi = got it)...
At the end of each match, players add up their scores, and the highest total wins.
If no one is free to play at that moment
then just wait patiently for someone to ask for a game.
People usually do this by asking... GAME ANYONE?
That is your cue to say I WILL.
If someone asks you to "CALL IT"
this means they are letting you decide
on what game you would like to play.
(there is a link on page that will take you to all the different games we play here.twist n rules)
If you are not sure, then just say so,
and NEVER be scared to ask questions.
We are here to help where we can.

ACKNOWLEDGING SCORES

When playing a game with someone we expect everyone
to acknowledge his/her opponents score in the room.
It is always nice to acknowledge your opponents score
so they know you got it and should be done each time
your opponent posts his/her score in chat.
This is done by saying: gi (got it) gj (good job) nj (nice job)
vnj (very nice job) nt (nice try) gg (good game)etc..

REPORTING

Now the match is over and someone needs to report. You are prob asking so who reports?
The loser of the match is the only one that reports.
To report for a game all you have to do is go back to the league page
(www.myleague.com/standbyme/) and click on "standings" and then "Report Loss".

Then just enter your username and password. You will be asked to enter the winners username.
It is not mandatory that you enter any kind of comment but you can if you wish.
Once you have entered their name exactly as their screen name...click on submit and you are done!!
It is very important to report losses right after the match is finished.
If there is a problem please contact an Administrator, Head TD, or TD to help you out.
In a tournament the Td hosting will report all losses
However the person that has lost thier games
will post in chat that loss in CAPS like this <<<<<<<<<<<<< LOST
This makes it easier for hosting TD to see all lost posting

REMATCHES

You can play the same person. Asking someone for a rematch is no biggie.
However, if there are others in the room looking for games
and not getting to play
it is rude to sit there and play the same person over and over.
Just use common sense and courtesy
and keep an eye out for what is going on in the room.

TRNIES

The "to-do" with Tournaments.
We love to do tournaments here so here is how to join them and play!
The tournament calendar is right up there on the front of the league page
Here you can see what trnies are coming up click on the underlined link.
This will bring up the main tournament page, click on the registration link.
ALL tournaments are different so be sure to read the rules page
(there will be a link for this also)
and see what special rules the TD has posted concerning his/her tournament.

Once the tourney starts, the TD will announce the "pairings" in chat.
Players named first always go first.
It is VERY important for you to watch the chat in the lobby
If you are missing when a tourney starts you will placed on a 5 minute timer,
if you are booted for any reason during a tourney you will also be placed on the timer.
Time spent on timer adds up during a tourney,
in other words you will NOT get a fresh 5 minutes each time you reappear.
After 3 BRB's or being booted, you will be removed from the trny

Once you determine who your opponent is,
play your match according to the particular tourney rules.
If you lose the match then you need to announce in chat.
(ie tyfpm ..in acknowledgement to your opponent).
After the tournament has finished
its important to also thank the TD for the tournament.
Remember they are giving up their time to host for us.

IF there are any questions the best way to resolve them is to message the TD,
if you are unable to do this
please ask your question politely in the lobby.
Be patient as often the TD is busy
so it might take a moment for a response.

And thats all there is to it.

CHEATING

SKIPPING cards purposely to get a better score
is classed as cheating and is NOT accepted.
Cheating in any form or fashion is NOT TOLERATED.
ANYONE caught doing so will be dealt with accordingly.
Punishment will depend on the situation and what has happened,
and could result in permanent dismissal from the league.
Each situation will be dealt with according to its own merits
and will be discussed in full by all the Administration staff.
Whether you are in a league game or a tournament
you are expected to play your cards as you normally
no matter what the twist is.
NO card manipulation will be tolerated!
Accusing someone of CHEATING in room is also not tolerated.

During a tournament, if you know you've lost,
out of courtesy please remain in your opponents room
until he or she is done their game.
Who knows, you might witness an extremly high score.
