This is the main screen you go to after you log in to the TD site. All pics are smaller than they appear. Click the thumbnail for full view.
Step 1
To create a tournament you click on create tourney...
Step 2
After clicking create tourney you will get this box. You may choose single elim, double elim (if trained), or swiss (if trained).
Step 3
On this page you can choose the day that you wish to host your tournament.
Step 4
Next choose your time. Please pay close attention to the tourneys already made. Do not put 2 in one time slot. We host tourneys on the hour. Swiss and Double Elim tourneys are allotted 2 hours. However, if that particular tourney will be ending shortly after 1 hour another tourney to fill in can be made.
Step 5
Next you fill in your tourney info. For the tourney name I usually put what kind of tourney it is. Location will be The Hamster Pit with the tourney type in parenthesis. For example (100 gin only). Number of rounds must be at least 5. Minutes between rounds is always 15. If you wish to host a tag you will change the number of players per team to 2. A random tag (where cases generates partners) is made by checking the random team partners box. At this time we don't host tourneys with membership requirements. Please get permission before trying to host a multi day one.
Step 5 continued
Invitation only tourneys are reserved for TOC only. Tourneys are always ladderstats unless you are hosting a tag with special rules for absent partners. The TOC check box is for TOC tourneys only. It will generate an email to all registered players. Again you must have permission to host a TOC. You may get with gerrya60_1 if you wish to host it. If you are a new TD you must choose the 1st bux option with no entry fee and no ladderbux rewards for the first 5 tourneys. After that you may choose the 2nd option until you have hosted 10 tourneys. After the 10th you may use the 3rd option. Please keep entry fees reasonable (20 bux and under). Higher fees may be used sparingly (preferably no more than 2 to 3 per week). Then click create tournament.
Step 6
Click return to administer tourney.
Step 7
If within 24 hours of tourney time you may open checkin. You can do this by clicking open checkin in the top right. Always click the return to administer tourney to get back to this screen.
Customize Tournament Rules
You can enter round specific rules here. You can also use your own custom HTML in the box provided.
Edit tournament Info
Here you can change the date and times of your tourney. Please make sure that no one has the slot that you are moving to. You can also change the name and location or add a TD donation here.
Customize Tournament Layout
You can change the whole look of your page here. You can put an image URL in the top image link box. It will show right under your tourney name on the main tourney page. If you are not a premium member you will not have the EZpicker options. The custom HTML box is fun to play with. You can use image links, javascripts, and all kinds of fun stuff here. Use your imagination. The Background Image box is where you put the image link for the background that you wish to use. If you do not want to use a link you can choose a color to enter in the background color box. The rest of the boxes will change different fonts and link colors. Make sure that the header background color and the small header color are not the same as any of the others. Otherwise people might not be able to read your standings page.
Post Tournament Message
This option will send a message to all members registered in your tourney. Please read it carefully.
Player Boot Timer
Players are always allowed 10 minutes per tourney. This applies even in swiss or double elim. If they time out then they are out of the tourney. To use this timer click on calibrate. It will go to a new window where you can enter a player name to put on timer.
