It's Tourney Time!!

GINGERBREAD HOUSE FANTASY

According to certain researchers, the first gingerbread houses were the result of the well-known Grimm's fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" in which the two children abandoned in the forest found an edible house made of bread with sugar decorations.

All Gingerbread Houses must be 100% edible candy/embellishments/materials except for lights 'inside/outside' the house. Non-edible support structure material other than the baseboard may not be used. No artificial interior materials, such as Styrofoam or wood, are to be used to construct or decorate the house.
What does the gingerbread represent? Long before it became a holiday treat, gingerbread was a royal favorite, a token of fertility, and a tool for witches to exact their vengeance. The pudgy gingerbread man with his candy eyes and icing smile has a sinister backstory—a link to death and the demonic.

Gingerbread houses, once finished, are meant to be admired and appreciated, but not eaten. It has been suggested that these edible structures originated in Germany between the 16th and 18th centuries. The trend for gingerbread houses must have spread to Britain at some point during the nineteenth century.

Knowing these points, KE is off on a race to build Gingerbread Houses! Each win in a GBH tournament gives one more item in building your own house.
