HOW SWISS PAIRS WORK

We cannot make adjustments to round 1 pairs.

From 2nd round and on you must verify and accept the pairings. The pairs will appear on the right.

Here are the general rules.

1. When your pairs come up never move or adjust the pairings of the top seeded people. That means anyone that has not lost does not get moved or adjusted.

They must vs each other in order to be eliminated so that a winner can be declared.

Match 1 Jack (2) vs Jill (2)
Match 2 Bob (2) vs Mark (1)
Match 3 Sam (1) vs Dave (1)
Match 4 Ann (1) vs Betty (0)
Match 5 Paul(0) vs bye

What this means is Jack, Jill and Bob have never lost. We do not change or move any of these people.

If a pair is highlighted by a blue line it means that these people have already played against each other.

If Bob (2) and Mark (1) had already played each other, and there are other (1) people then we may swap the (1) player with a different (1). WE NEVER move a person on the left side pair (table maker) to the right side. So in the above case we could swap Mark (1) with Dave(1) or Betty(0).

We do this by clicking on Player 1 in the swap area and placing Mark(1) there.

We then click on Player 2 in the swap area and place Dave(1) or Betty there.

We then view the new pairings to see if we still have dupilicates. Sometimes they cannot be avoided as it is a swiss and people can remove themselves.

If that is the case and all pairs have been tried we simply accept current pairs (scroll to the bottom of the screen) and accpet.

NEVER ASSIGN a bye to the same person 2 times. One bye per player per tourney.

Only adjust the left side people with left side people or the right side people with right side people.

RUNNING YOUR SWISS
--------------------------------------------

Scroll your completed pairs.

Pairs are scrolled just like normal. Everyone plays and there is only ever 1 bye.

Check table setting and then accept invite.

First scroll the game rules then you scroll the SWISS ROOM scroll, you may then leave the table UNLESS this is a doubles then you remain and kibitz.

If you had a bye then you will scroll the room scroll for round 1 tables and round 2. You do not need to scroll them after that in the room.

You then only scroll it periodically in the lobby to remind them it is a swiss.

Watch the lobby carefully for winner/loser reports. Report your winners on your tourney page one at a time and acknowlege them by typing WTG WINNER BLNR LOSER

After all the games are done and reported we scroll our SWISS ADVANCE ROUND scroll.

You run your tourney as normal. Report winners. When all the tables have been reported you will scroll the 2 minute warning scroll.

Watch the lobby for anyone asking to be removed. If you had an mia and they are not back remove them before you advance to the next round.

When the 2 minutes are up and you have removed mia people and anyone who requested removal you click to advance the round.

MAKE SURE YOU REPORT THE CORRECT WINNERS. YOU CANNOT ADJUST A ROUND ONCE IT IS ADVANCED Besides these guidelines it is just a normal tourney. It ends when someone is undefeated.
