What follows are all of the formats that can be run in a tourney.
Please do not hesitate to ask the TD for any help!

Double Elimination a.k.a. D/E-You play your first match in the "Top" of the bracket. If you lose, report and then go back to standings, as you will play again in the "Bottom bracket" or "The Basement." If you lose in the bottom bracket, you are out of the tourney. If you win in the top, you continue in the top bracket until you lose, then head to the bottom bracket...Basically, you have to lose 2x to be out of tourney. SO DON'T LEAVE AFTER YOUR FIRST LOSS!!! In finals, if winner of top bracket wins, tourney is over. If winner of bottom bracket wins the finals, there is a sudden death match of one game each between the two finalists. Formats and number of games for top, bottom, and finals of D/E are set by the TD running the D/E.


Swiss Tourney-In this format, check the pairings for each round, not the standings. Each round is a separate match, in that you are not out of the tourney untill you want out (tell the TD) or tourney is over. Report a loss on tourney page and stick around for the next pairings. There are two types of Swiss tourneys:
Regular Swiss: the tournament is completed when there is only one player remaining who is undefeated. If for some reason after the given number of rounds has been played and there is still more than one undefeated player the tournament will be extended in order to determine a winner.
True Swiss: The number of rounds is preset by the TD before the tournament starts and regardless of the number of participants, the number of rounds does not change once the tournament begins. After all the rounds are complete the player with the most points wins. If there is no conclusive point leader there is no winner of the tournament.


2/3 Game Regular-
- In this format each player plays 2 games each round and 3 in the finals match. Same way for 3/5 format.


3 Strikes- First player sets a base score, which player 2 then has 3 chances (strikes) to beat. If he does he sets "new base." Play goes back and forth till someone gets three consecutive strikes. Post failed hands in chat with an "x" for each failure.


3-2-1 Tourney- Player takes their score and rearranges it from highest to lowest.
Example: 15830 = 85310


5's Alive:Add 1000 points for every 5 you get in your score.
Example: 1550=3550.


5k Run-In this format the players will play as many times as it takes to clear 5k and keep going. The score that clears 5k is the only one that counts.
Example a player could get 2490 and play again and get 7890. The 7890 will count as their score. The one with the highest score wins.


7 Up- If you get a 7,8 or 9 you add another next to it.
Example: 2870=288770


8'S are Never Enough-If you get an 8 in your score, add an 8 to each end...ex:5830=858308...But, if you get two 8's in your score, drop each end number
Example:58830=883.
If you get three or more 8's score stays the same.


A Day at the Races- In a Race format you specific a number for the players to reach example 50k, the players will each play as many rounds as it takes for one to reach that number. Players play equal amount of turns.


All in ONE- First player to get 30k in one game with opponent having equal amount of turns, kind of like a race except you have to do it in one hand. If u get impatient with that you can set a # if they don't make it in like 3 game, they play a sudden death match to determine winner.


Average Roller- Players divide their total score by number of games played. Highest average wins.
Example: 3330 / 3 = 1110 average.


Banana Split- Take the last 2 numbers & put them on the front of your score, if there are more than 4 digits the middle number goes to the end.
Example: 5760=6057 or 39570=70395


Baseball Tourney-Players can only count the second number in their score. The only numbers that count are 1,2,3,4, and 9. 1 is a single, 2 a double, 3 a triple, 4 is a home run, and 9 is a grand slam. The players add up these numbers 1,2,3,4, or 9.
Example: score is 1400 = 4, which is a home run. Next time they get a 1600 =6, which is a dud. So their 2 games total is 4.


Bermuda Triangle-Game 1: You pick a twist, your opponent picks a twist. Pick a twist you can live with...that will be your selection throughout the tourney. You each play the game you chose.
Game 2: You swap twists with your opponent. You play thier twist, they play your twist.
Game 3: TD Choice... The TD will close registration, then ask everyone for their twist pick. Then start the tourney. Be sure you understand your opponents twist before you start the first game. Before start of play the TD will list each person's twist choice...be sure to clarify what you are playing with your opponent before you start play.


Best out of 3 or 5- Whichever player wins each hand gets 1 point for having the highest scoring game. The first to win 2/3 or 3/5 wins.


Big Red Bonus-Count all the red cards face up before you start. Add 1000 pts to your score for each red. 1st player must start with a clear board.


Black Jack- If they have an Ace and also a 10, jack, queen, or king on the initial deal they add 3k to their score, 2 aces & 2 face cards = 2 bonuses.


Bonus Rounds- In this type of tourney each player receives a set amount bonus per round they reach.
Example: if the bonus is add 500, you would add 500 to score if you end in first round, 1500 if ends in 3rd round.


Boo- If they have 2 zeros anywhere in their score they add 5k. If they have only the 1 zero, they must drop it.
Example: 20340=25340 or 3240=324


Bottom Dweller- Any score that a player gets under 10,000 points they double. If they clear 10,000 they do nothing to that score.
Example: 4310 = 8620 but an 11200 would stay the same.


Catch Me if ya Can- All games are played without alternating between opponents. If format is 2/3, then player one would play 2 games, then player 2 would play their 2 games. Highest score wins.


CC's Folly- Drop the zero at the end of score, then multiply the last number in score by 10k.
Example: 23680 (8*10k= 80,000+2368=82368)


Chase the Ace- Players get 1000 points added to score for every ace in their draw pile.


Crazy 8's- If you have an 8 in your score, add an 8 to it.
Example: 18680=1886880.


Dead Man's Hand- If the last card you have left on the board at the end of your game is an Ace or an 8, you have to redo the hand. Only once. This can be a good or a bad thing.


Deadly 3's- If player gets a 3 in their score, they will get a ZERO score. If a player finds a 4 in their score they will get to double the original score. If a player has a 3 and a 4 then their score will remain the same.
Examples: 1230 = ZERO, 1450 = 2900, 34500 = 34500(same).


Deuces Wild- If you get a 2 in your score, put another 2 beside that one.
Example: 2340=22340.


Devil's Twister- This one is like lucky 7's except you place 2 sixes beside any 6.
Example: score 2600 = 266600.


Double Double or Nothing- Play 2 games each. If you get any 2s in your score double it as many times as you have 2s. BUT..if you don't get any 2s you get a big fat 0!
Example:2020=2020x2x2 (because of two 2s)


Drop the Zeros- Self explanatory. The players drop all zeros from their score.
Example: 10250 = 125


Drop a Game- Players play 3 games. They will drop which ever game the TD decides, their highest, lowest or middle score.


Double or Nothing- If they get a 3 or 7 in their score, they double that score, but may only double it once even if they have two 7 or 3's. If no 7 or 3, then score remains the same.


Double Delight- Each player plays 2 games, the first player doubles their first score & leaves second score the same. The second player leaves first score alone, & doubles second score.


Dunkin Doughnuts- Drop the zero from end of score, then add 2 zeros directly behind the first number of score. Example:14290=100429. In Finals replace all zeros with 5's.
Example: 10680=15685


Elephant Ears- If you get an 8 in your score, move it to the front of your score, & add another 8 to the end. If you have 2 8's in your score, only move one to the front.
Example: 5890=85908 or 58380=853808


Final Card Bonus- You will get a bonus at the end of each game that is dependent on the last card that is flipped on the bottom. 2 = 200, 3 = 300, 4 = 400, 5 = 500, 6 = 600, 7 = 700, 8 = 800, 9 = 900, 10 = 1,000, J = 2,000, Q = 3,000, K = 4,000, and the A = 5,000. So… if the last card you flip on the bottom is a 6, you will add 600 points to that game.


Fins to the Left- 3atwt game. 4's are considered fins sooo.... in game 1 move all fins to the left Example: 9410 = 4910.
In game 2 move all fins to the right.Example: 14200 = 12004.
In final game, game 3, double all 4's. Example: 8420 = 84420.


Flippin' 8's: Flip 8's on their side to make 00. If your score begins in 8 it stays the same.
Example: 4890 = 40090.


Football Tourney- 2 versions. 1.) BONUSES FOR NUMBERS IN YOUR SCORE 2 = 2 POINT CONVERSION… Add 2000 to your score. Example 1200 = a 2, add 2000 final score is 3200 3 = FIELD GOAL….. Add 3000 to your score. Example 1300 = a 3, add 3000 final score is 4200 6 = TOUCH DOWN….. Add 6000 to your score. Example 1600 = a 6, add 6000 final score is 7200 7 = TOUCH DOWN WITH EXTRA POINT.. Add 7000 to your score. Example 1700 = a 7, add 7000 final score is 8200 Only take the HIGHEST bonus..
Example: score is 2570 = that has a 2 and 7 but you can only take the 7. Add 7000 final score is 9570.

2.) USING HIGHEST BONUS If you find a 2, 3, 6, or 7 anywhere in your score you get to keep that number. Like the baseball tourney. You can only use those numbers. And you can only use one of them if you get two in a score.
Example: 2500 = 2 (2 point conversion) …67000 = 7 (touch down with extra point)


Friday the 13th:If you get a 1 AND a 3 in your final score, move them to the front (13). Then add two more 13's behind it. You can only do this once per score. All other 1/3 combinations remain as they are in the score. You always move the first 1 and the first 3 in the score.
Examples: 17350=13750=131313750 and 13310=131313310
Front to Back- - Take the first number & move it to the back.
Example: 1930=9301


Full House- If the player has a full house on the start deal (a pair of one kind of card, and 3 of another. 2 Kings and 3 fours). They can add a certain bonus amount determined by the TD normally 5000 or 10000 points.


Fun House- Take the 3rd digit in score & move it to the front.
Example:5340=4530


Fuzzy Math- Add the digits of your score together.
Example: 23610, 2+3+6+1+0 = 12. 12 would be your score.


Half & Half- Players must clear the right 5 bottom cards & then the left 5 cards, or vise versa, before moving on to next row. So in other words, they may only clear one side at a time.


High 5's (^5's): All fives in your score are turned into 10's.
Example: 4560 = 41060.


Hopscotch- Players skip every other number in their score to make the score they keep.
Example: 12590 = 150.


Icing on the cake- Play either 2 or 3 games, player can only keep the highest score.


Jack-O-lantern race- However many Jacks the first player has showing on their initial deal (in the pyramid or on drawpile) determine what the race is to. 1 Jack=10k, 2 Jacks=15k, 3 Jacks=20k, 4 Jacks=25k, No Jacks=25k. First player must begin with a fresh board once opponent enters their room.


King of the Hill-Play as usual until you get to the top 3 cards! Leave them till the end. You cannot touch them until the rest are gone.


Leap Frog- Player will change their score by jumping first number over second and 3rd over 4th. Also explained as switching the 1st and 2nd number and then the 3rd and 4th.
Example: 12,340 = 21,430.


Leftovers- At the end of the game, you multiply your score by whatever number correlates with the card left on top of the draw pile. Ace=1, 2=2, 3=3, 4=4, 5=5, 6=6, 7=7, 8=8, 9=9, 10=10, J=10, Q=10, K=10.


Let's 69 Baby- If you get a 6 anywhere in your final score, you will add a 9 behind it. If you get a 9 anywhere in your score you place a 6 directly in front of that 9.
Example: 6780 = 69780, 5910 = 56910, 5690 = 569690.


Lightning Strikes- Players change all 1's in their score to a ZERO.
Example: 25160 = 25060, 1540 = 0540.


Lucky 7's- There are many variations on this format (crazy 8's, deuces wild). But the principle is the same. If the player gets a 7 in their score they may put another 7 beside that one.
Example: 1270 = 12770 and 34770 = 3477770.


Mad Dash- Score does not matter, you can only count the highest run in your score, add your runs if you play more than one game.


Middleman- Players play 3 games each. The lowest score is subtracted from the Highest score, then the middle score is added.
Example: 5230, 12560, 1230 ---> 12560 - 1230 = 11330 + 5230 = 16560.


Minis- These are Sudden Death (s/d) matches, 1 game each. 3 rounds, 8 players OR 2 rounds, 4 players. You may only jump in one mini at a time, or you will be removed from one by the TD.


No 69 Tonight Hun- Players drop all sixes and nines in their scores.
Example: score 16920 = 120. Also take 6's and 9's from total too.


No Creme in the Oreo- 3 games each, players keep only highest & lowest score.
Example: 12340, 3440, 8900. This player could only add the 12340 and the 3440 = 15780.


Odds are Even- All odd numbers in your score are rounded up to the nearest even number.
Example: 5470=6480


Pass or Keep - Players alternate turns, but at the end of each hand they must decide whether to pass or keep their current score. They may only keep one score.
Example: a player gets 2560 and decides to pass that score. The opponent gets 45060 and decides to keep that score. The first player will play again to get a score they will keep. They can only play the amount of games that the TD designates.


Pick Your Poison-The TD will pick 2 different twists, you must choose only 1 and apply it to your score. Your opponent does not have to pick the same twist.


Picket Fences - If you get a 1 in your score, put another 1 beside it.
EXAMPLE: 5130=51130


Poker- 5 games each. Each score puts you in a card range, & gives you a card. After 5 hands, you have 5 cards to try to make the best poker hand to win.
CARD RANGE:
0000-3999=2,
4000-4999=3,
5000=5999=4,
6000-6999=5,
7000- 7999=6,
8000-8999=7,
9000-9999=8,
10000-10999=9,
11000-14999=10,
15000- 19999=J,
20000-20999=Q,
30000-39999=K,
40000-80000=Ace
80000 + equals a wild card.

POKER HANDS:
5 OF A KIND....5 cards of the same card.
4 OF A KIND....4 cards of the same card.
FULLHOUSE....2 of one card, 3 of another. Example: two 3's & three 4's
STRAIGHT.....5 cards in sequential order. Example: 2,3,4,5,6
3 OF A KIND.... 3 of the same card.
2 PAIRS..... 2 sets of pairs. Example: two 4's & two 8's
PAIR.... 2 of the same card. (also called 2 of a kind)
HIGH CARD.... Highest card in your hand, The ace is the highest card.

Poker Alternative- Each person plays 5 games. The last card showing on your draw pile at the end of each of your games makes up your hand. You try to make the best poker hand possible with the 5 cards.
Example: If your cards are 3,K,3,K,2, you've got 2 pair Kings High.

Spit in the Ocean Variant- The TD will pick one card at random. This card will be 'shared' by all players. All cards of that rank are wild (if the card is an 8, 8's are wild). The players play 4 games each, alternating turns. They only keep the last card on their draw pile. At the end of the 4th game, they will have 5 cards (with the card the TD gave them). The player with the highest poker hand wins.


Psycho 2's- Every 2 becomes 22, and you multiply your score by 2.
Example: 4250=42250*2=84500


Red & Black- You must play the cards in alternating color sequence. The color you start with depends on the color of the cards that is face up in your draw pile. If the bottom cards is a red 5, then you must play a black 4 or 6 on it. if you make a mistake, stop where you are & you must take that score.


Reverse- Players reverse their score.
Example: 35460 = 06453.


Reverse Plus Round- Reverse your score, then replace the 0 with the round number that you ended on.
Example: 7390 in round 2 =2937


Reversi- 2 games each. Each person will reverse then double their lowest score. After adding both games, reverse the total score.


Round them up- Players round their score up to the nearest even number or to the nearest 100 depending on which type of this format you choose.
First type example: 15870 = 16880. Second type example: 16860 = 16900.


Row by Row- Players can only use cards from the bottom row until they clear those cards. Once they clear the first row they can go to the next and not before. Game has some low scores but very interesting.


Royal Court- Players receive 500 points for each face card (K, Q, J) showing on their original deal. The first player must clear cards when their opponent gets in their room. Ace is not a face card.... it has no face on it, lol.


Screamin' 3's- Get 2 or more 3's in your score add 3k.
Example: 23300=26300.


Seventh Heaven- Add 7000 pts for every score you get under 7000.
Example: 6850=13850.


Single, Double, Triple- This format is what it says basically. Each player plays 3 games. First game score they leave as is. The second score they double and the third score they triple.


Snoball- Players that win carry over their total score to the next round & add it to that rounds total score. If you get a bye, then you take your average score (found on yahoo player stats) and multiply it by the number of games you would have played that round. Highest total score wins.


Sorry Charlie- Each time a player goes, their opponent has their oppurtunity to say "Sorry Charlie" and have them replay their game. Whatever score they get is what they keep, for better or worse!


Speed Tourney- You play as many games as you can in the allotted amount of time (usually 5 minutes). Your opponent keeps track of your scores and posts them at the end of the 5 minutes. You go when TD says go, & stop when TD says stop.


Split Personality- If you get a 2 in your score, divide it in half.
Example: 2580=11580.


Stuck up Royals- This is a version of row by row, but you must clear your face cards BEFORE any other cards on that row.


Sweet and Sour 10's- Alternate Turns. If you have a 10 at the front of your score, push it to the back. If you have a 10 at the back of your score, push it to the front.
Example: 10760=76010 and 7110=1071.


Target Speed- Once the TD starts the tourney, they announce the pairings in the chat. All players up to play that round go to the TD's ROOM. Once everyone is in the TD's room, they'll announce a "target score" and ask if everyones ready....set and go. When they say go all player leave the TD's room and play as fast as you can as much as you need to to reach the "target score". As soon as you get it you say meeeeeeeeeee in chat and the TD will come in to verify the score. Object is to reach the target score before your opponent does.


TEXAS HOLD 'EM VARIANTS Texas League- Same as Texas Hold 'Em. EXCEPT: The TD will choose 5 Random Cards that the players will 'share'. Play 3 Games, If a 4 is one of the Random Cards, the players will each play an additional game (4 cards instead of 3). The player with the highest poker hand wins.

Extra Innings- Same as Texas League, except the TD will choose 6 'shared' cards instead of 5.

Tahoe- Same as Texas Hold 'Em. EXCEPT: 3 Games (3 cards), each player may only use 2 of the common cards to make their hand.

Crazy Pineapple- Same as Texas Hold 'Em. EXCEPT: 3 Games (3 Cards), each player must discard one card after the flop (first three 'shared' cards given by the TD).

POKER HANDS: 5 OF A KIND....5 cards of the same card. 4 OF A KIND....4 cards of the same card. FULLHOUSE....2 of one card, 3 of another. Example: two 3's & three 4's STRAIGHT.....5 cards in sequential order. Example: 2,3,4,5,6 3 OF A KIND.... 3 of the same card. 2 PAIRS..... 2 sets of pairs. Example: two 4's & two 8's PAIR.... 2 of the same card. (also called 2 of a kind) HIGH CARD.... Highest card in your hand, The ace is the highest card.


Threesome- There are 3 players per match. All players take turns watching each other, and the one person with the highest score advances.


Touchdown- Each digit in your score drops by one. Zeros become 9's.
Example: 7590=6489


Triple Threat- If you get a 3 in you score put 2 more next to it.
Example: 5380=533380


True Swiss format- There is a set number of rounds and it continues through all rounds. There may be more than winner in this format.


Twins- Split all even numbers into 2 digits.
Example: 2160=111330 ( the 2=11 and the 6=33, the 1 and 0 stayed the same)


One Round Mini- THIS ONE IS PLAYED JUST LIKE A MINI, HOWEVER, YOU ONLY PLAY ROUND ONE. IF YOU COMPLETE ROUND ONE, YOU STOP PLAYING AND REPORT THAT SCORE. STILL ONE GAME, SUDDEN DEATH.


Word Tourney- Each number in your score corresponds to a letter in the alphabet. The TD picks the word to be spelled, for example "HERETKAU":
1=no letters
2=A, B, C
3=D, E ,F
4=G, H, I
5=J, K, L
6=M, N, O
7=P, Q, R, S
8=T, U, V
9=W, X, Y, Z
0= no letters
A number can only be used for 1 letter at a time so a score of 7330 could be used as R, & 2 E's.
